PROFILE
I started doing work in the mental health and
human service field, 17 years ago. I worked as
a Mental Health Worker, at Bridgewater State
Hospital, which until a few years ago, was
overseen chiefly, by the Department of
Corrections, and performed duties as part of a
vendor contract, per UMASS Medical, at the
time of hire. I worked under the Nursing
department supervision, while also taking
some operational cues from the clinical staff.
Most of my tenure at this facility, was under
the MHM correctional health vending
umbrella. I have the vast majority of my skill
set and sense of performance ethics, and
gained a skill set that is unique, to other
aspects of this discipline. I have spent the past
3 years since leaving the facility, working for
Southcoast Hospitals Group, and worked in
Patient Services at St Luke’s Hospital, In New
Bedford, Massachusetts. I also performed
therapeutic group services, for brief time, with
their annex Behavioral facility, In Dartmouth,
Massachusetts (formerly Rogers Psychiatric
Unit@ St Luke’s Hospital). It was there, that I
would reinforce my skill set and experience,
to the clientele. For the past 10 months, I have
been part of the Activity Therapist staff, at

Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Communications coursework). Received awards for Community Service work (via Habitat for Humanity) 3/2003. Also, I was briefly engaged in the Theatre Rep department and studied Rehearsal and Performance.

that I have had the creative autonomy to a
certain extent, to provide support and
facilitate therapeutic and activity space, for a
clientele that is receiving recovery treatment,
under a section 35 prism. As an indirect
consequence, It is become increasingly
advantageous, to scout the areas of greater
need, within the Industry, in which my
experience and skill, can be better utilized,
going forward. At this time, I.am also
performing fee for service case management,
for Kaleidoscope Family Solutions, and also,
working overnight, for Ark Behavioral
Health, as a lodge attendant, for consumer
and resident services . I am also looking into a
Masters Program for Health Care
Administration and Vocational Education.

With the focus being placed on a myriad of broad aspects of recovery, my responsibilities range from providing therapeutic activities for clients within the section 35 treatment umbrella, to facilitating therapeutic groups that assist with their recovery and basic day to day, mental health needs( e.g mindfulness, the 4 agreements and Providing 12 step material for peer led group utilization).
