Projects

• Redesigned production building layout to receive product lines from closing facility, organized placement of the machines, and entered all incoming items, routings, and BOMs into ERP database.

• Further increased the warehouse picking capacity by 67% with the cooperation of IT resources by way of recoding the pick-sheet layout.

• Designed and managed the implementation of a complete plant restructuring project using Lean and Six Sigma principles to achieve 77% cumulative reduction in material movement waste across all 4 product types, a 57% increase in pallet storage, and a product picking output increase of 56% per day with 28% fewer workers.

Responsibilities

• Performed all CAD work as it pertained to products, facility buildings and site layout, as well as production and warehousing layout.

• Integral in plant-wide 5S implementation and execution with an enhanced focus on safety resulting in a sharp decrease in workplace RSI or CDT type injuries, utilizing my factory layout drawings to create strategically placed evacuation maps for quick and safe emergency egress.

• Work collaboratively on product, production, picking, and shipping standards and improvements with Production Manager, Distribution and Shipping Manager, Supply Chain, Sales Manager, Maintenance Manager, TX, OR and WA Plant Managers.

• Received drawings from external facilities and converted or re-drew them to the appropriate CAD structure and format needed for collaboration between facilities.

• Travel to other facilities to create accurate, working facility drawings and to assist in proper layout design discussions to eliminate waste and gain efficiency.

• Managed all plant facilities and outside contractors for equipment movement, repair, electrical improvements, and racking installation.

Projects

• Implemented In-line production model for a vent manufacturing line gaining a 117% increase in production in a 70% reduced manufacturing footprint.

• Created accurate site layout drawings for plant restructure. Organized shipment of machines to another facility, designed a new plant layout placing all manufacturing in a single building, and managed the movement and placement of machines.

• Identified and proposed material movement optimization resulting in 25-40 min reduction in setup time between production runs.

• Assessed and enhanced warehousing efficiency to realize a 25% increase in daily picking capacity with an increase in pallet storage of 23%. Project parameters stated a zero-cost approach; achieved through product placement, pallet standardization, picking route, and shelving height optimization. Responsibilities

• Data collection of material specs, manufacturing procedures, and time studies for operational understanding and ERP database verification and product costing.
