Job duties

Safety is important in the work place. Keeping a clean work area is important in avoiding accidents. I do have 5S training and other safety training.

I have focused on developing a solid supply relationship with the suppliers I have worked with over the years. This comes through effective communication and understanding the goals that are set for the company.

I have experience in action plans. I like to consider this as when a problem happens then an action needs to take place and feedback on the action that was administrated.

As for plant strategy it takes establishing how operations work. From sales to planning and buying of material. The inventory has to flow in and out of the plant in the best way possible to achieve overall affectedness.

Lean plant affectedness comes from operational standards that are in place for acquiring material to be used in the plant. This can be done through just-in-time planning. A smooth flow of material is needed for best results.

You have to give direction if you want to get there. That goes for the direct people that you supervise, you must motivate to achieve the goal. I have done this many of time by having meeting to understand goals of the company.

Cycle counting is for various reasons. A good cycle counting procedure is that it falls within a variance that has been established in operating inventory. The year end accounts for a snap shot of inventory dollars at that time in the plant and in transit of any material. A good year end inventory will not have much variance in dollars.

Receiving material in and out of the plant is required for recorded keeping. One measure that I have done is to keep up with on time deliveries to customers.

I have used EDI and ASN notification of shipments to and from customers. This is a good communication tool that has been in supply chain to aid in that communication.

Planning and scheduling of material is important in the plant organization. This is what has to be made to support the goals of the company. Acquiring the material for those needs has to be scheduled.

I have managed in process inventory based on usage that the next operation needs to do that schedule for that day and the week. The just in time practice is common use for this operation. Inventory levels are based on what the company wants to achieve. The main focus is to have a smooth flow of material through the supply chain. Month end inventory is a report on how well the scheduling and planning was done for that month. Turn over rate is important in cash flow of the organization.

Budget for the department can be tracked by how much material was bought and used for that month. Labor and spending is part of the budget for that department. I have used a number of ways to do this; one is by labor reporting for the plant. By keeping up with the amount of time a part is manufactured and the labor that is spent on that part. Performance can be track, for example of on time delivery to the customer.

Cost drivers can be identified by high variances in the process. If this is a part for example then the part could be made outside for a cheaper price and not affecting the quality of the part. The performance could be how well each department ran on labor and meeting the plan.

Logistics is important in moving the material in and out of the plant. Effective communication is needed to assure that material is there for the process.

Material variance must be controlled for the dollar of material. For example, if the bill of material is not right and production goes on the inventory will be off and an adjustment to the inventory will incur a variance. This must be controlled in order to have a good inventory of material.

Summery, I have saved the companies money that I have worked for by extreme planning with the system that I have worked with, and educating the employees on those practices. I have many months of 100% on time delivers to the costumer. Those practices included Inventory system as well that was developed for running the organization. I possess my experience in buying of material through the supply chain.
