Vice President of Supply Chain Transformation 2019 – 2022

Reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer for transformation programmes. Direct responsibility for management of the supply chain Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, Program Management and Systems Transformation teams. Accountable directly for the associated departmental budget and the corporation’s annual Profit Improvement Plan goal.

•Designed and implemented the “Lean into Excellence” Program across 18 manufacturing and distribution facilities designed to mature the operational culture. Implemented a program that leveraged lean-6 sigma tools to attain and sustain corporate KPI performance including Cost, Delivery and Quality.

•Developed and deployed innovative strategies for 6 sigma belt training, Logistics CI, Lean Warehouse, Overall Equipment Efficiency and Hoshin Kanri. All remote due to COVID.

•Designed and facilitated the Profit Improvement Plan netting $200+ million savings per annum.

•Program Management Office (PMO) – facilitated and program managed the supply chain footprint optimisation netting ~ $15 million savings per annum.

•System Transformation – Represented Operations during the Implementation of the new SAP S4HANA platform to enhance system functionality and introduce tiles technology into the corporation.

VP of Global Quality Mobility Solutions Segment (CMS) 2016 – 2019

Reporting directly to the SVP of Corporate Quality. Supporting the SVP Segment Business Leader of CommScope Mobility Segment (CMS). Direct responsibility for management of the global design quality team supporting each product line across USA, UK, China, India, Germany, and Italy. Accountable directly for department budget and facilitating year over year Continuous Improvement. Indirect management of operations quality within plants producing CMS product.

•Participated in cross functional leadership and improvement of the global product development process including quality deliverables e.g., DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Yield design to improve new product quality.

•Innovated changes to the segment product development process, 20% reduction in cycle time – designed and established a kaizen approach to the dynamic phase gated product development model.

•Achieved 5% YoY reduction in segment Customer Complaints, leveraging global adoption of use of the self-scoring 8D (min 85%) including the 3L 5W. Addressed chronic causes of failure e.g., Base Station Antenna PIM failure.

•Realized ~5% YoY segment Scrap / Rework reduction leveraging SPC, 6 Sigma techniques e.g., Control Plans, Gage R & R, Cpk goals, Green & Orange belt program.

•Oversaw the ongoing management and maintenance of corporate ISO/TL9000 recertification.

VP of Global Operations Continuous Improvement 2014 – 2016

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations Cable and Antennas. Design and development of the global corporate continuous improvement strategy across 3 operational groups including fibre infrastructure cable / terminations, antenna / cable, and active products.

•Created a Corporate Continuous Improvement Strategy. Implemented Maturity assessment model in 12 factories globally. Developed plant plans to improve maturity from a tool to system-based culture.

•Designed and deployed a Profit Improvement Program with Finance. Process and procedures developed and deployed achieving $9m savings year 1.

•Designed and implemented a global VSM / Kaizen training program to identify and eliminate waste. Initiated in 5 main regional facilities India, China, Mexico, Czech Rep and USA.

•Created a marketing strategy for the Lean into Excellence brand including video, logo, newsletters, graphics, and reporting.

•Integral member of the Corporate BNS integration team. Successfully merged acquired company into CommScope technology and processes within project timeline, exponentially expanding company’s fibre market presence.

VP of Global Operations Quality 2013 - 2014

Senior Director of Quality 2012 – 2013

Reporting directly to the SVP of Corporate Quality. Responsible for direct management of factory operations quality. Driving manufacturing continuous improvement of corporate quality KPIs including reduction of customer complaint, scrap $s, Production non-conformances, audit non-conformances and supplier (inter entity) non-conformance.

•Introduced a global culture of quality program aligned to the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) model. Created a model which measured, through interview of a wide population, the perception of employees as to how quality was seen, heard, and felt at each plant. Resulted in a YoY measurement of culture, and development of an associated improvement plan.

•Standardised best-in-class operational quality management process across a diverse set of manufacturing plants with varying procedures and product portfolios whilst maintaining compliance to ISO9000 and TL9000. Designed to reduce non-conformance e.g., Customer Complaints, Scrap, Production, Supplier, Audit and Deviations

•Achieved YoY 5% reduction of Quality Complaints as a % of 1000-line items shipped. 5% YoY scrap reduction as a % of CGS which targeted chronic failure modes.
