· In 2000, I accepted my first teaching position with Campbell County Schools in Caryville Elementary. Then, in 2003, I was hired to Knox County Schools due to moving. I began work at Beaumont Magnet Academy and took over and revamped the music curriculum for Beaumont Magnet Academy. This highly diverse school serves a broad variety of students, many of which come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and families of few resources. I made a lateral transfer to Green Magnet Academy in 2007 after moving to a new home. I have worked throughout my career to empower these children, and teach them what opportunities exist beyond their current neighborhoods. One of my greatest skills as an educator is to build meaningful relationships with these students, and inspire them to reach for their career goals and dreams.
