Experience

July 2015 to Sept 2022, Ford Motor Company Stamping Business Unit (SBU)

In 2015 I transferred from Stamping Manufacturing to the Stamping Business Unit of Ford Motor Company. I served in many roles while working within the SBU. Instillation Supervisor, Automation engineer, Process Engineer even filling in for Kentucky Truck Stamping Team when they were short of staff in the capacity of Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisor.

I traveled 97% of the time while assigned to the (SBU). Traveling to and working at every Ford Stamping Facility in North America. I would follow new Automation, Dies and Tooling, tracking their (ECR) rate of climb and Quality of the part until they met the standards set. Working with plant teams implementing changes to processes when required. The actions and results were reviewed for lessons learned by the Department Leads and utilized when planning the next program launch.

January 2010 to July 2015, Ford Motor Company Woodhaven Stamping and Kansas City Stamping Plants.

I joined the Woodhaven Stamping Maintenance Team as a Maintenance Supervisor in January of 2010. I worked on the Sub Assembly (Low Bay) side of the facility. I was recruited for this position due to my years’ of experience. I was responsible for the day-to-day activities of the afternoon shift maintenance team assigned to the Low Bay side of the plant. The team consisted of 6 Electricians, 6 Weld repair technicians, 4 Pipe Fitters, 4 Millwrights, 2 Machine repair and 2 carpenters. I was responsible for scheduled and predictive maintenance, I also worked as a Production Supervisor when the need arose until the Plant Operating Committee found an adequate replacement. I was recruited to join the Maintenance Team in the New Stamping facility at Kansas City in 2012. We launched the new Press and the New sub assembly area. I was responsible for the day-to-day activities of the afternoon shift maintenance team assigned to the plant. The team consisted of 5 Electricians, 3 Machine Repairmen, 3 Pipe Fitters, 2 Millwrights, . I was responsible for scheduled and predictive maintenance, I was asked to join the SBU in January of 2015, I was promoted to SG8 and assumed those duties in July of 2015. I stayed on in Kansas City until a replacement was hired.

July 2006 to December 2009 Field Service Gonzalez Production Systems

Robot Programming and Tooling Installations. Gonzalez (formerly Clear Industries) I followed the Sub Assembly Tooling (Closure Panels-Hoods, Doors and Decklids from vendor plant to the Assembly Plant. I worked for their field service department. They mostly did closures for Ford Motor Company. I was recruited by Ford Maintenance Team at Woodhaven Stamping I joined their team in January 2010.

November 2004 to July 2006 Spectrum Engineering, Worked for Spectrum Engineering finishing the Programs inherited from the closing of “DCT”. I then was asked to work with AAME Chrysler Group Launching the Compass, Caliber and Patriot products out of the Belvidere assembly plant in Illinois. I stayed on this launch until Cerberus group bought Chrysler and the management team was reorganized.

May 2002 to November 2004 Detroit Center Tool I worked for the Field service group for DCT. I followed tools from the shop to the customer’s floor. Install through integration. DCT owner dissolved company. Spectrum Engineering picked up the service contracts of the tooling installations, Sal Awada, then owner of Spectrum Engineering asked me to work for them and at the minimum finish up the programs I was working.

March 1999 to May 2002, Rhino Engineering, Walled Lake, Michigan

Worked as a programmer and Team Leader for Rhino Engineering. Main duties were tooling instillation and integration at customer facilities. Worked in Saltillo Mexico a lot during my time with Rhino Engineering did a lot of programing for Magna, and Oxford Automotive while in Saltillo. I was working on a Job for DCT at the Chrysler Tank Plant when the partners of Rhino Engineering folded up. DCT wanted me to continue working on the project and hired me directly to their service group.

August 1994 to March 1999 Wisne Automation and Engineering (Pico Industries) Worked out of the Wisne Automation facility off Meadowbrook in Novi, Michigan. My main duties were field service. I was immediately sent out on the Road for Tooling instillation and integration. As a member of Pico I got to work all over the United States, Mexico and Canada at a variety of Customers plants. It was an amazing experience where I was able to work with some of the most talented people. I was notified of the sale of Pico Industries to Comau by the man who recruited me and as I was not fully vested, I joined a group of techs who started a company.

June 1987 to August 1994 Mazda North America (later became Auto Alliance then Ford Motor Company) Flat Rock, Michigan. Team Member then Team Leader in Body Shop, I was given training in 4 different Robots (Kawasaki, Nachi, Moto-man and Puma) basic and advanced training. It was my abilities with the Robots which garnered attention from the Tooling Supplier (Pico Industries) Ford was taking over the Day to Day at the Auto Alliance facility. When Ford came in, they offered a buy out with a 10-year retirement to those hired before 1988. I took the buy out and went to work for Pico Industries at their Wisne Automation Facility in Novi, Michigan.
