Qualifications and experience mainly gained through significant work in Oil & Gas and Construction Industries (+ 35 years already) which have produced a safety Professional capable of investigating and advising on many different HSSE, Training, Quality Safety Auditing, Road Transport Safety and Emergency Response matters. Report directly to the General Manager. Job Summury:

1. Ensure sound HSSE Policies; Management System, contracors bridging documents, HSSE initiatives and Safe Working Processes suitable for SIMPOS activities is developed and implemented;

2. Evaluate the degree of implementation of HSSE Management System and HSSE Plans to provide timely feedback on findings and improvement requirements; 3. Organizing HSSE audits to assess the level of compliance vs. Policies and HSSE MS; 4. Timely collection of HSSE statistics and generating relevant reports; 5. Develop and maintain Emergency Prepardness & Response System, Plans, Procedures and facilities to reflect changing operational circumstances to the best industrial practices; 6. In conjunction with Operational Team, develop and conduct table top exercises for major exercises. This include the preparation and running of Major and Minor ER exercises (medical, Oil/Chemicals spill, fires and rescue), targeting coaching ER Team members on site and review / identify their training needs;

7. Carry out incident, accident & NM’s investigations to ensure effective analysis and reporting. Ensures key findings are communicated to the Management, staff and contractors, and assist in implementation the measures to prevent recurrence; 8. Facilitate the Action Tracking System for HSSE audits and walkthroughs to ensure actions and recommendations are properly closedout in timely manner; 9. Evaluating the Contractors HSSE Performance; undertaking pre-qualification and tender evaluation reviews of prospective contractors in the area of HSSE & ER; 10. Conduct various on-the-job HSSE training (H2S, Fall protection, WAH, First Aid, SHOC, RA, JSA and JHA etc.) and Promote HSSE Awareness Programs; 11. Lead JSA and RA jointly with field groups to cover critical HSSE issues (scaffolding, confind space, hot work etc.). Evaluate the use of PPE / devices and procedures, to ensure safe operations; 12. Ensure that all fire protection systems, safety equipments and testing devices are regularly inspected and properly maintained, adequate stock of spare parts, Fire Fighting reserve supplies and recharging equipments are on hand;

13. Routinely observe the Company’ safe work practices, note any unsafe work practices, if any, Submit reports with recommendations for corrective action to the appropriate supervisors; 14. Participate with the Management Team in verification and bench marking of KPI’s; 15. Liaise with the local authorities and various govermental agencies on different HSSE issues. Major Achievements AFPC – SSPD Shell Syria:

Develop, issue and implement the AFPC Road Transport Safety Case.

Develop, issue and implement the AFPC Oil Spill (in Rivers) Contengency Plan.

Initiate In Vehicles Monitoring System (IVMS) pilot project in 90 AFPC and two of its Contractors vehicles (Drilling and Transport Contractor).

Set up suitable remedial action plans according to IVMS data analyzed in the Scientific Road Safety Institute (SOWV) Holland.

Carry out Community Road Safety Programs in the operating area (eastern region of Syria).

Initiate projects aimed at increasing road safety awareness amongst pupils of primary schools in operational areas.

Introduce presentation materials to support line staff in disseminating HSE messages to their sub- ordinates. The same is done for primary schools teachers

Manage safe defensive driver training for SSPD / AFPC and its Contractors staff

Audit transport systems applied by Company, Sub-contractors, and SSPD

Take over all Road Safety Advisor activities in the end of year 1999 All the above targets were met.
