Gentlemen,
Thank you for the opportunity for employment with your company. Basically, I suffered a serious motorcycle accident on June 31, 1980, that resulted into a TBI. I was at the age of 16. I had a massive concussion, deep bleeding on the left hemisphere of my brain, had intercranial pressure at 40+psi, lost my spleen, lost my stomach, inhaled a tooth, a collapsed lung, broke my jaw in 5 places and my right wrist in 6 places. I received 58 units of blood. Had pneumonia 3 times and hepatitis B twice (non-communicable) while I was in the hospital. In a comma for two months in ICU and pediatrics more an additional month. Because of the concussion I received was on the left hemisphere (which controls speech), it affected mine. When I regained consciousness, I could not speak a word. It also affected the motor capabilities of the right side of my body (I am spastic on that side). When I was discharged from St. Catherine of Siena Hospital (located in Smithtown, New York. Medical Records: - Medical Records Catholic Health (chsli.org)) my weight was half than when I arrived.
Needless to say, it didn’t look good for me; but I pulled through. Granted, I missed half of my junior year in high school; yet I graduated with my class and continued to get my BSBA from the University of Arizona in 4 more years. That might be all well and good in the academic field; but when you are pursuing a career, I fall short. Every time when I am interviewed for a private business, my posture and my hesitant speaking ability gives the impression that “I am low on the totem pole.” This is the reason I was forced to be a private contractor, selling telephone service and later selling internet service.
Finally, I was given hope at the end of 1994, until a breakthrough came to pass. My family and I pulled together to form Finest Care Homes of Arizona, Inc. I was in charge of financial transactions related to the business. The business lasted 11 years; the reason being my family passed away, leaving me in full control of the business. It was a strain on me and the death of my family members increased the toll on my psyche. In 2006, I had to sell the business. I was bewildered and distraught.
The profits of the sale of the business are now depleted. I am a single father, raising a 14-year-old daughter. Because I take care of my daughter, I have to stay in the vicinity of Green Valley. Knowing that, I had to find employment in the locality quickly with the company by the name of Door Dash. Thank the Lord it is based in a sedentary position and on a subcontractor basis; or so I thought.
As you read my resumé, you must see the job at Door Dash entails more than I asked for. Constantly getting in and out of my vehicle caused a tear in one of my quadricep muscles of my right leg. What else could I do but resign my position.
Is there a position for me with your company, ComPsych® Corporation; hence the Remote FMLA Customer Experience Specialist? If so and after nine months you feel I’m worthy for me to continue, I’ll let go of my SSDI and move on.
Forgive me, my physical attributes are less than adequate. I cannot stand in place no more than half an hour at the max before I must sit down. Also, because my right hand was originally the dominate one, I had to switch to my left hand. Naturally, it takes me time to type since I can type only with my left hand.
(cont.)
Please tell me there will not be any difficulties. If not, I am confident that I will pass the test. Let me prove that I will be a qualified candidate and more.
I look forward to your answer.
Take care and God bless,
David J Spinelli
