• Electrical maintenance in a limited time.
• The Chief Electrician is to keep the Barge Management informed of any situations that require immediate health, safety and welfare actions and is fully authorized to make any decisions to prevent injury, loss of life, damage to equipment/structure and/or loss integrity

• The Chief Electrician is also required to manage an electrical staff onboard and instrumental in the development of goals, objectives and career plans for each of his sub ordinates. Electrician
Action / Responsibilities:
• Install and create Electrical Cable Routing, cable ladder/tray, cable ladder/tray support, and all E&I Equipment.
• Lighting & Small Power - Location Layout & Cable Block Diagram, Lighting Fixtures Installation Detail, Normal Lighting Panel Layout, Emergency Lighting Panel Layout
• Install Electrical Cable Tray Layout, Cable Tray & Ladder, Mv & Lv Cable Installation Details, Cable Ladder and Tray Support.
• Install Grounding & Bonding Layout & Details.
• Design Cable Schedule, Cable Routing Drawing, Interconnection Diagram.
• Develop project details from ideas and/or specification involved by engineers using specification, sketches, and engineering theory in solving problem.
• Responsibility progress daily & weekly report
• Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring.
• Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
• Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
• Constructs and maintains service equipment.
• Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
• Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommends purchases and suppliers.
• Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
• Installs conductors, splices cable, builds terminations and does necessary hook-up for primary power lines.
• Sets poles, strings overhead lines and does overhead line maintenance.
• Lays underground conduit for electrical lines and installs low voltage electric lines and conduits for telephone systems.
• Supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the employee's work time, duties include assigning and reviewing work.

Function:

Action / Responsibilities:
• Check and review drawing / P&ID, estimate as actual drawing.
• Variety work like installing and function tested, witness instrument device, line hook up, loop checked.
• Prepared/setting actual E&I panel & switchgear l in the module
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
