Mental Health Clinician
Provided diagnostic and mental health treatment for the adult outpatient program in office. Job duties include clinical assessment, intakes, discharges, treatment plans and psychopharmaceutical consults with agency psychiatrists. Documentation for clients include progress notes, annual assessments and non-billable and interactions with staff, supervisors, collateral sessions and clients. Clinical interventions include CBT such as cognitive reframing and cognitive restructuring talk therapy, Mindfulness (grounding techniques such as meditation, guided imagery, breathing exercises and musical therapy), and William Glasser’s reality theory interventions. Job duties also include training and participation in group and individual clinical supervision. Provided field-based and in-office therapeutic counseling for residential mental health facility and outpatient services of individuals dealing with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, anxiety depression, bipolar disorder, domestic violence, homelessness, substance use disorders, transgender stigmatization issues, and relationship/interpersonal attachment issues. I assessed and diagnosed mental health statuses, conducted extensive intake processes including psychosocial, medical, mental health status and family histories, medication interaction and information, worked conjunctly with psychiatrist and the medication prescribed to help the client meet their mental health goals, created treatment plans with the clients and triaged clients during crisis intervening when appropriate. I documented and billed for each client according to the guidelines of the Department of Mental Health of Los Angeles County. I participated in community outreach and tabling services for events and worked hand in hand with other mental health workers and case managers to ensure each residential client was being served with best practices during their stay.

Provided field-based and in-office therapeutic counseling services for adult and children individuals and couples in the areas of anxiety, depression, domestic violence, and attachment disorders as well provided court-mandated therapy for Department of Children and Family Services and domestic violence victims as per the order given. I assisted clients at their homes or in the office deal with issues which also included relationship and interpersonal differences in both Spanish and English. Documented and provided intake services for the agency as per their specify. Provided mental health assessments utilizing the guidelines of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual – V and the International Statistical Classification of Diseases – 10 to identify behavioral measurement and possible treatment for those behaviors. Established and maintained a rapport with clients to ensure best practices was provided in all ethical, environmental and empathetical parameters to assure the clients highest level of recovery. Open Paths Counseling Center
Helped clients in a mental health setting dealing with issues related to Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Queer/ Questioning stigmatization trauma, as well as human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, depression, anxiety and relationship concerns and gave individual and group counseling in a non-profit training agency. I also provided outreach counseling services in an economically challenged community food bank. I provided mental health services to children undergoing the Department of Children and Family Services process in both Spanish and English and families dealing with undocumented citizenship as well as provided parenting classes. I also facilitated counseling anger management/ aggressor issues and domestic violence/predatorial behavioral issues in a group setting. I gave counseling to persons with developmental and personality disabilities, prepared progress notes, intake forms and progress letters and reports. I also testified in court for family court custody hearings. I gave the majority of counseling in Spanish and was trained, supervised and mentored through the agency.

Asian American Drug Abuse Program
Gave information to public at large in different venues, conferences and festivals about the Earned Income Tax Credit for low incomed workers as well as provided information about the drug abuse and social services program available to persons dealing with substance use disorders and in need of social services like WIC, housing information, C.A.R.E and Cal-Fresh services. Travelled to different locals across the south bay areas of Los Angeles and tabled at each event.
