SURF+ Scholar and Adjunct Research Associate June 2022 – Present Valleywise Health Medical Center Tempe, AZ

• Under the Surgical Undergraduate Research Fluency Plus program (SURF+), researched trends of burn patient falls to understand why falls occurred and how to prevent them. Presented findings of research to Dr. Kevin Foster, director of Arizona Burn Center and received recognition for research.

• Developed proficiency in REDCap EDC Software and Epic electronic medical records system as part of research conducted.

• Author on abstract that will be submitted the American Burn Association (ABA) to present findings at the ABA Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Biophysics Pipeline Program at ASU Tempe, AZ

• Collaboration with the Flinn Foundation to write a book meant to teach basic and advanced biological concepts through the use of the Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD) program, which allows for students to actively load and engage with the biological molecule they learn about.

• Wrote a chapter of the book focusing on DNA properties, functionalities, and applications. Programmed and added VMD files correlating to various sections in the DNA chapter. Key Achievement: Received Research Award from the Flinn Foundation for the successful presentation of the primary book chapters.
