• Assisted Chicago Tribune journalist William Mullen (twice Pulitzer Prize winner) during his 3-month research trip to the Peruvian Amazon jungle to understand the failure of the U.S. anti-drug policy in coca producing countries, and to investigate the problems facing the indigenous communities adjacent to the Cordillera Azul National Park regarding environmental degradation, widespread forest clearing, oil exploration in protected areas, and terrorist violence, among others.
