WORK EXPERIENCE
OPTIMAL HEALTHCARE INC.
• Coordinator of Community Service Supervisor, October 2020- Present. Currently I supervise a team of 8-10 Case Managers who coordinate and provide person centered services to individuals with a developmental, or intellectual disability, as well as connect individuals to community resources to meet their needs. My job responsibilities consist of the following: Provide direct supervision to 8-10 Case Managers, to oversee my teams compliance and to oversee their caseloads which is equivalent to 300 clients in the Central Region. As a supervisor, I have to monitor and ensure that my staff is meeting their client’s needs, as well as following DDA requirements. I also have to monitor my teams billing requirements on a weekly basis, and conduct quarterly performance evaluations to ensure my staff is in compliance within their job role. I have the responsibility of interviewing applicants who apply to be Case Managers, and attend required trainings to stay within our agencies accreditation requirements. SOCIAL WORK INTERN AT JOHNS HOPKINS SYDNEY KIMMEL CANCER CENTER
• I was a social work intern in Adult Oncology at Johns Hopkins SKCC during the 2019-2020 academic school year. My field instructor is the senior supervisor for the department, and is the assigned social worker on 5A, the leukemia unit. During my time in adult oncology, I had the opportunity to rotate for 8 weeks of my internship to gain experience working with different patient populations for example: BMT, and ICU patient’s. During my field education I gained experience in performing SW Psychosocial Assessments, coordinating with home care, coordinating discharge planning, and providing supportive counseling, or end of life care.
SOCIAL WORK INTERN WITH SWCOS
I was a Social work intern at Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy for the 2018- 2019 academic year. This placement is in a high school setting. My responsibilities were to work under the school Social orker while having a caseload of my own. I work with seven students, where I provide counseling services on a weekly basis. During this time, I am also a member of the attendance team as well as focus on group counseling for the parenting students at the school. CAPTAIN JAMES LANDING
• Fells Point MD, Bartender/Server March 2019-March 2020. I worked part time in the service industry to help support myself financially while enrolled full time in the MSW program at University of Maryland School of Social Work. OCEAN FRONT COUNSELING
• Berlin MD, Registered Behavior Technician, December 2017- June 2018. I worked as an independent contractor at Ocean front counseling full time. My job duties are to work one on one with individuals under the age of 21, who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and express abnormal behaviors. Once goals are set by the family, and the BCBA on the child’s case, I implement a behavior intervention plan with the child in hopes to eliminate or minimize the child’s behaviors using ABA therapy. • Ocean City, MD Server and Bartender, Mar 2014 – September 7th 2018. I worked here while receiving my undergraduate education and was expected to give excellent customer service, sell food and drinks, train new employees, and make sure other servers were doing their job as expected. • Salisbury MD, Patient Transport, July 11th 2016- September 25th 2017. My responsibilities were to transport patients, equipment, and medicine throughout the hospital as needed. I also provided customer, and comfort care to the patients as needed.
DENTON CHILD DEVELOPEMENT CENTER,
• Denton, MD Teacher's Assistant, Jul 2010 – Apr 2014 I was a part time little saints teacher, along with a teacher assistant full time. My job was to give pre school level educational skills to kids, and to also provide daycare services. I was also CPR, and first aid certified if needed. I worked with children ranging from ages 2-10 years old, who also had different developmental, and skill levels. I had a few kids in my class that had developmental, and learning disabilities as well which gave me some experience with autism, ADD, and ADHD.
EDUCATION
• North Caroline High School, Ridgely, MD High School Diploma, May 2012, I graduated. North Caroline High School with a 3.5 GPA. I was the President of my class for all four years. I also was an active member of the National Honors Society, and the President of the Spanish Club. Along with keeping up with these academic groups, I was a member of the Track team, Cheerleading Team, along with playing soccer and belonging to a Dance Company.
• Chesapeake Community College, Wye Mills MD. Major: Science/Biology: September 2012-May 2013.
• Wor- Wic Community College, Salisbury, MD. Major: Science/ Biology Candidate, Expected graduation, Dec 2016. I transferred from Wor-Wic to Salisbury University in fall 2016 to finish my bachelor’s degree.
• Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD, Major: Psychology/ Biology. I am a official graduate of the class of 2017 With a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and minor in Biology.
• University of Maryland School of Social Work: MSW program, graduate as of May 2020. My concentration was clinical health, with a focus on Clinical Oncology Social Work.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
• I have strong leadership skills, especially in the work field.
• I have almost seven years of education in the Psychology, and Biology field with emphasis on Clinical/Counseling, and Abnormal Psychology.
• I am a quick learner, and am very passionate when it comes working in the medical field, with any involvement in Social Services, and have a passion for pediatrics.
• I am first aid certified, and CPR certified.
• I am up to date on my COVID-19 vaccinations.
• I also have strong Microsoft Skills, and am very comfortable with technology. I am familiar to Epic which is used at JHH for patient documentation. I am also familiar with documenting within LTSS, and PCIS which is used through the Maryland Health Department, and the Developmental Disability Administration (DDA).
• I have experience with billing, and working for a fee for service agency.
• I love working with people, and communicating with others in any situation necessary.
• I have two years of experience and education in Medical Social Work with the emphasis on Oncology Social Work, and over 2 years in Case Management, and Supervisory work.
