The Territory Manager will have full P&L ownership of the territory, and will be charged with developing key relationships with dealer partners and generating contract sales volume across the dealer base. One of the first of 6 sales executives, hired to sell a state-of-the-art healthcare software solution for a venture, capital-backed a start-up firm in11 western states. I quickly sold product the “Plug-and-play” solution to providers. However, backers pulled out due to the long sales cycle. Hospital and medical groups were the target market.
BLUE SHIELD OF CALIFORNIA: Director of Special Project, Culver City, CA October 90 – October 95
Hired with the introduction of Blue Shield’s HMO program in Southern California to be responsible for research, development and implementation of the HMO with strong growth. Managed and developed a staff of 18 sales, admin and service associates. My team exceeded their $8M new business growth goal for 1994 & 1995 earning me MVP both years. My training program for the staff was adopted corporate-wide by our-human resources department. I also created a cultural diversity model for IPA marketing. Role included HR functions such as recruitment, benefits explanation, staff management, and career development.

Began my tenure as a legal intern under Blue Cross of CA before Health Net split to become its own entity. As one of the original 35 associates under the President, my skills were used wherever he needed me most during our growth.
