PROFFESSIONAL/WORKING EXPERIENCE

UPTO DATE I WORK AS A CURRENCY COORDINATOR AT SMARTUP FACTORY YOUTH HUB

As a youth mentor I have been involved in volunteering as a currency coordinator for the project.

KEY DUTIES

As a youth mentor on the Smart up project, one of my key roles is to mentor my fellow youths at the factory and also share my knowledge and personal skills with them.

Designing of forms to be used in tracking the attendance of each intake of young people who comes to the space to learn as well as in awarding points.

Tracking the daily attendance of the youth at the space and ensure active participation among the young people.

Monitoring the youth engagements and activities like active participation, time management, volunteering and smartness within and outside the space in communal engagements.

Design a new currency to be earned in the space.

Awarding points to the outstanding and most active youth in the space on a weekly basis.

Recording and announcing the names of the outstanding youth on the board of fame

Carrying out weekly sessions with the new youth to track their achievements, lessons learnt and for feedback.

I have been able to assist in setting up an attractive, inspiring and youth friendly innovation centre where the youths of Kawempe can come and discover their purpose in life by coming up with very innovative ideas.

ACHIEVEMENT

I have been able to acquire hub management skills and growing my team work skills.

While performing these duties been able to learn on how to work with people of different backgrounds.

I have gained skills on ensuring the active participation of my team.

Through making monthly and annual reports been able to improve my managerial skills thus contribute on making the final organizational annual reports to achieve our desired goal.

Improvement in my leadership skills.

Empowered fellow girls to embrace shared decision making power and leadership at the factory thus enabling balanced power with youths in the group.

OCTOBER UPTO DATE WAS APPOINTED AS AMENTOR AT SMARUP YOUTH HUB

KEY DUTIES

Mentoring my fellow youth both men and women to reach their goals through facilitating and taking lead in different sessions at the space.

Been involved in as a cheer leader that helps and involves inspiring the youths to achieve their dreams through sharing ideas, knowledge, talents and skills for their personal development.

Facilitating trainings at Smart up factory hubs, through this been involved in different teaching for the youth coming from different places such as kawempe(central), Tororo (western),Jinja (eastern) parts of the country etc. The youths have been taught about life skills, Entrepreneurship Art and Craft, Design thinking and Computer which could help them define their lives

.ACHIEVEMENTS

The youths have been able to again skills in I.CT, Art and craft whereby they can make their bags, necklace, and earrings for their own and for sale hence earning a living.

They have gained Friendship through Networking with different plan organization by attending Ceremonies, workshops trainings.

Business Skills, as a mentor I have enjoyed by seeing the skills being put into practice through small business such as retail shops among young people.

JANUARY 4TH UP TO SEPTEMBER 2016 WAS APPOINTED AS AYOUTH CHAMPION FOR SMARTUP YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.

KEY DUTIES:

Carried out research in the community on social problems affecting the youths.

Making monthly reports about the activities that were done by the youth champions

Developing different projects that can be beneficial to the youths to earn a living

2015-2017 YOUTH ADVISORY PANEL MEMBER FOR PLAN INTERNATIONAL UGANDA.

Advising plan Uganda on issues concerning young people

Attending meetings with the top management of plan Uganda and its partners as a youth representing other young people.

Attending quarterly meetings with other young people on board and give feedback on the different activities that took place in my area and the kind of change brought about.

2014-2015 WORKING AS A PEER EDUCATOR FOR APARTNERSHIP EMPOWERMENT FOR VULNERABLE GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN URBAN SLUMS (PEVUS) PROJECT.

Mobilizing young people to take part in different project activities

Carrying out peer led sessions on General hygiene, good health, menstrual hygiene, Girls rights Abstinence among young people, etc.

Community engagements with both parents and young people in different slum areas with in Kampala.
