Laurens, SC. 29360

Position: Store Manager 5/18-7/18

I took on a large task. I was assisting both stores at the time when I was asked to take over the Laurens store to restaff and Re-merchandise the entire store as well. Which took me a month, with 2 person coverage and a whole new staff. I used it to my advantage for hands on floor training for my new management and sales staff. As I was the only Manager during that time my duties were as follows: Opening and closing procedures, bank deposits and ordering change. Daily paper work, cashier which included all exchanges and returns.Layaway Inventory and cancellations, seasonal floors sets, interviewing, hiring and training new staff. Weekly Dm calls, Montly Lp reports, daily emails, scheduling 3 weeks in advance, receiving, processing and putting out freight within a week. Two shipments a week 40-140boxes per shipment.Meeting processing standards. Weekly signage walk through and replace.

Weekly Markdowns.Nothing in this store was scanned when I took over the 1.8million dollar store. I had the best markdown rate in the district as 0.0% to 2.2%. Training my markdown team was a success. I increased sales within just a few months by keep an organized well maintained store and training a great staff. With my efficient problem solving skills, creative thinking and compelling communication skills I was able to overcome the adversity of this problem store for the district.

I always had this store looking its best! “Grand Opening status”

I was asked to assist and be apart of the corporate visits and at that time I met the RVP,SVP AND VP of the company. This was when I was praised and recognized for all my hard work and great ideas for the company.

As the 1st Assistant I would train all new associates. I was responsible for the plus department floors and walls and had to maintain all displays. I was also over accessories and mastered the Home Decor Department.I had also started a colorizing trend within the district for all lingerie departments, as my SVP started after a visit to our store. When I rejoined the Cato Company they started me as a 2nd assistant.I was a key holder.I opened and closed the store and mainly focused on sales and customer service and keeping up with the cash wrap to ensure it stayed neat and organized for the customers and ringing them up in a timely manner. I did daily paper work and was over loss prevention policies and procedure. I was then assigned the home decor department by the manager and was to complete the task in-between the servicing of customers this is referred to as multitasking which in time I became extremely good at.
