I have 8 years of experience in Management, Marketing and Real Estate. I have started and sold two companies.

I most recently was a Senior Manager at a prop-tech Startup. I am a licensed realtor in Texas and a licensed home inspector in Texas. I own a portfolio of rental homes that I self-manage. A majority of my experience is in real estate, but it has also all been with small companies and startups. I’ve been in leadership positions in every case and enjoy growing, scaling, and implementing processes.

EXPERIENCE

2021 - 2022, Doorvest Inc

Doorvest was my first time in a true tech startup and I loved it! I started at Doorvest as the first and only Estimator. This entailed choosing/implementing the software and creating all systems/processes around this. I built this team to four members in 3 cities before handing it off to the renovations department. During my time in estimating I also assisted with Geo-expansion by building an extensive 40 part tool to analyze cities all across the country and choose which markets to go into next.

I also helped raise a 50MM fund to purchase homes. This included lots of technical reporting as well as a two day on-site tour with the fund manager in DFW, Tx. Most recently at Doorvest I ran the maintenance division of the property management team. I took this over as a suffering department (losing $250,000 in Q4, 2021 and again in Q1, 2022) I took over in mid-may 2022 and got it within $30,000 of profitability in my first 3 months!

Note: As a startup in prop-tech Doorvest was unable to raise their Series B round of funding and was forced to lay off of the staff. I was laid off in Nov, 22. 2020-2021

At Investus I started from scratch a team which grew to 8 team members (both local and offshore) that purchased homes at a discount and sold them to investors. This was a wonderful experience which honed my marketing and sales skills. I maintained a marketing strategy that outbounded 10,000 touches per week, and ran the sales team that responded to inbound leads as a result. I was headhunted by Doorvest and eventually moved to that opportunity.

2018 – Current

REALTOR, Texas United Realtors

As my inspection company grew to a point where I could hand off management and inspections to my employees, I wanted to try my hand at real estate. I am a licensed and active realtor with Texas United and have completed dozens of transactions (both on and off market) in the past three years.

2014– 2020

OWNER, PRINCIPLE INSPECTIONS

Principle Inspections is also a home inspection company that I founded. It grew to a point where I was no longer needed in the day to day operations in a full time capacity. Principle has completed over 2000 inspections since 2014. We were never sued and never had a year in which we did not turn a profit. The business has been run on a cash basis only and has never needed to borrow money. This company was acquired by a national inspection firm in late 2020.

2011 – 2013

OPERATIONS MANAGER, SWADLEY ROOF SYSTEMS

At Swadley roof systems I was part of a very fast paced commercial roofing company. I was ultimately responsible for managing all crews (30+), having all materials delivered on time to job-sites, and keeping accurate, up to date records of progress. 2008 – 2010

OWNER, IMPACT OUTDOOR SERVICES

As the owner of Impact Outdoor Services, I ran a full service landscaping and maintenance company. I was responsible for leading all crews, managing finances, day to day operations and advertising. I successfully sold the company.

EDUCATION

HIGH SCHOOL, HOMESCHOOLED.

Homeschooling was a wonderful experience. It taught me to think outside the box and understand that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. During high school I was always proficient at math and science, I did my first two years of college while still in high school through dual credit.

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE, LONE STAR COLLEGE

I did my first two years of college while still in high school. I did complete the prerequisite classes and math/science classes in order to graduate with an associates degree. I very quickly realized that I wanted to work for myself. That is when I left college to build my first business, Impact Outdoor Services.

I am a life-long learner. I read 50+ books per year and track them all. Most of my reading is in the fields of science, psychology, business, and economics with a specially in behavioral economics.

ACTIVITIES

My wife and I enjoy giving back to our community through our local church. We both serve on the worship team, as well as lead a small group on Wednesday evenings. We are passionate about real estate (which is why I became a realtor) and currently own 3 rent homes and a 4-plex.

We enjoy time together working out at our home gym and hiking for recreation with our two children.
