Quality Shift incharge in 'NEPTUNE' Engine assembly and testing quality. Responsibilities

To improve the process adherence in 'NEPTUNE ' engine assembly and testing and to ensuring the supply of defect free engines to customers. Operations

Conduct process and product audits and initiate & coordinate stake holders to take CAPA to reduce functional & asthetic DMP for busses and truck, Displaying DMP at GEMBA area.

Review of daily basis issues & facilitate CA to reduce DPV and monitoring trend. MQMI (Manufacturing quality maturity index) improvement through process audits, process corrections & Mistake proofings introduction. Preparation of control plan & FMEA for engine assembly and testing process. Conduct review meetings with Suppliers on projects and improvement actions and ensure supplier delivery as per commitment.

Participating IMPROVE and MINI IMPROVE projects competition. Conducting PEAS (Production Engine Audit System - Extended Hour Testing) and take CAPA based on the observations while testing and dismantling. Involvement in as Quality Executive in the TQM Demung award pre diagnosis

(Preparation of policy management files, application studies, and other necessary documents)

Process enhancement & Updating standards

Developing and approving thd continues improvements. Updating control plan, SOP, and FMEA.

Meeting requirements effectively as a Quality Executive in IATF16949, EMS & 5S audits.

Involvement in GEMBA (improvement of safety, Quality, 5S and ergonomic initiatives).

Effective communication to work men about customer complaints through One point lesson and Visual aids.

Team management

Managing team size of 9 inspectors and 1 quality associate. Assisting inspectors in over coming the day by day problems and provide guidance. Maintaining competence level of inspectors and developing their skills. Providing on the job training to inspectors.

Conducting MSA studies and maintaining calibration procedures for measuring guage and equipments.

Six sigma project as Elimination of engine rejection in testing Elimination of engines rejections due to excess smoke or FSN above spec in 'NEPTUNE' engine testing.

Result

4.5% Neptune engine straight pass improvement

Recurrence saving of 12 lpa INR.

Six sigma project as Elimination of coolant leak from cylinder head gasket Elimination of coolant leak from cylinder head gasket due to waviness in liner counter bore in cylinder block.

Result

10% straight pass improvement in Neptune engine testing. Recurrence saving of 2.06 crores per anum INR.

Six sigma project as Elimination of customer complaint of Neptune engine no start Reduction of customer complaint ppm by eliminating the engine no start issue due to fuel injection pump gear lossening.

Design of land improvement in gear and flange nut introduction instead of washer and nut which causes lack of clamp load.

Result

75000 ppm reduction in customer complaint in Neptune engines. ACHIEVEMENTS & AWARDS
