April 2003 to September 2013
I joined the Navy in 2003 at the age of 36 as an ABF Aviation Boatswains Mate Fueler. I served on 4 aircraft carriers and deployed to Rota, Spain. In 2009, I reported to active duty as a Reserve Recruiter. After a year of Reserve Recruiting, I reported to Navy Scholarship Program Recruiting. This position is normally held by a Chief Petty Officer, two pay grades above me but due to my outstanding performance as a recruiter I was put in that position. In that position I processed over 350 applications, conducting interviews and school presentations in 3 states. I also for a brief period served as the Program Director while my boss was on leave. I then went on to Officer Programs Recruiting where I dealt one on one with Captains and Admirals. Commendations:
Lauded as THE hardest working Petty Officer in my division. Received the Navy Achievement Medal for the work as an Officer Recruiter Received a plethora of “Bravo Zulus” from Admirals and Captains for my work in the Scholarship Program
