Professional Experience

Mr. Megna has provided relevant experience in structural, geotechnical, seismic work in the construction and the petroleum industries, and in air quality monitoring for regulatory work with the EPA.

• Structural experience used to assess the qualitative aspect of concrete, grout, and masonry block. Other relevant structural experiences in which Mr. Megna has been involved in are; load testing, pile driving, field density testing and reinforced rebar construction.

Graduate from the Panametric School of Non-Destructive Testing in which he has completed and acquired a Level 1 and Level 2 certificate needed to everyone compliance with the American Welding Society Code.

• Geotechnical experience includes the assessment of proposal revitalization projects, open test pits monitoring, drilled boring analysis, drilled in piles (first of its kind in Massachusetts) roadway construction, rock drilling, as it applies to site and grade relationships, structural sand gravel pad construction for foundational requirements and has maintained a liaison with owners, developers, supervisors and city officials regarding the scope of work.

• Seismic experience included the usage of resistivity as it applies to the installation of an electrical power substation, radar penetration used in the location of specific size boulders in the excavation process and seismic reflection as it applies towards the feasibility of a proposed degasification plant in Fall River.

• Relevant experience in soil testing analysis within the following areas: moisture density compaction analysis, sieve/grain size analysis, hydrometer analysis, geomembrane testing (peel and shear), one-dimension consolidation testing of clays/silts, permeability testing of cohesive and cohesionless soils, Shelby tube sampling of landfills, soil classification (Burmister – ASTM) lab management of daily operations, field report writing, boring inspections, and Atterberg limits.

• Certified to operate a nuclear densometer through the Troxler Electronic School.

• Former State Licensed Concrete Inspector

• Experience with geotechnical contractors involving start-up and working knowledge of slurry wall construction, continuous flight auguring and caisson drilling for projects involved throughout the eastern seaboard. Experience with Bauer of America involved estimating, scheduling and negotiating as an assistant superintendent with the local contractors.
