Hazardous Materials Investigator, Jul 1987 – Jan 2016
•Senior Investigator with experience in felony prosecution of companies that illegally dispose, store or spill hazardous materials/waste. Knowledge in the areas of surveillance, evidence collection, and chemical, sampling. Prepared and executed search warrants in order to collect the necessary evidence for a successful prosecution. Investigators are required to interview suspects, witnesses, and informants. Provide expert testimony when necessary. Cases are assembled and submitted to the proper jurisdictional prosecutorial office for filing.
•Investigation Unit Safety Officer from 1998- 2013. Extensive knowledge in areas of respiratory protection, personal protection equipment and air monitoring chemical atmospheres. Responsibilities include establishing respiratory protection program and annual testing and monitoring for First Responders and other employees who are required under OSHA to wear a respirator and PPE.
•First Responder, provided regulatory oversight for over 500 hazardous materials spills, including chemical, radioactive, and biological incidents.
•Representative for the Fire Department at the Los Angeles County Environmental Crimes Task Force and Federal EPA Task Force.
•Certified Expert Witness by the Superior Court of California, in hazardous materials/ waste management.
•Department liaison to EPA, DTSC on Superfund removal projects, with the estimate of 25 million dollars in recovery costs.

•Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Award for Distinguish Service, 2008, for Strike Force investigation that led to the successful prosecution of a Metal Finishing Co., that disposed chromic acid to the sewer, causing the temporary closure of the County Sanitation wastewater plant.
•Provide HAZWOPER and First Responder training to El Salvador Firefighters, San Salvador 2008, 2010.
