Production Supervisor
Steves & Sons - San Antonio, TX
February 2019 to June 2021
• Production Supervisor/Certified forklift Operator for Shipping and Receiving. My position overseen 30 to 40 employees every night. I trained and cross trained every employee to a position they would be capable of performing. I had production goals and shipping goals daily. I would work the floor with employees if we didn't have enough employees to cover the shift. I would have to call temp services daily also to fill all positions as needed. I had production sheets of all doors that needed to be made and shipped daily as well. Had computers, scanners, and work sheets used to follow up on all activities of production and shipping.
1. Sizer's- Had to run sizer machines, make adjustments to door sizes for the right cuts of the banding saws. Made sure doors had right skins for doors that were being cut. Made sure the door pusher wasn't jamming up the sizer's. Had to oversee pallet maker was making right size pallets were being made for the cut doors. Made sure door flippers were flipping all doors and checking the cuts and glue pulls of the skins.
2. QA and Repairs- After doors were flipped and put on pallets had to push down assembly line to repairs. they were inspected and repaired on stacks of 30 to 60 doors on each pallet. Quality issues varied but most was fixed if not had to be pushed through to last repair line or sent to a reject pile. If all doors were good or fixed they were pushed through to the paint line. 3. Paint Lines- Once in paint booth they were prepped and covered and straightened for best paint results. Had to make sure had enough paint and lines were good. Made sure production rollers didn't have paint cause it would make the rollers get stuck and stop production. Once painted was pushed through to buffing stations.
4. Buffing Stations- There were 2 buffing stations both had to buffers for a more finished result in case of drips and roughness. Had to place card boards on top of doors to be sent to wrapping stations. 5. Wrapping Stations- There were 3 wrapping stations once pushed onto wrapper had to count all doors and scan doors for product verification. Then a shipping label was made on the computer. Once fished had to start machine to wrap while you placed cardboard corners for the protection of shipping. After finished wrapping placed shipping labels on corners and push through to the forklift lines. 6. Forklift Operator- Pull product off production lines verify and scan product into computer to find its location or shipment details. Had incoming raw materials that had to be sorted and placed in right locations. Had to read manifests for shipping or receiving. Had to dump all bins and trash. Had to move all materials throughout the plant.
