MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define requirements for development of Maintenance Plans including technical specifications, approach, boundaries of the task, and resource and schedule requirements.
Considered an expert in the conduct of Reliability Centered Maintenance Workshops for all Submarines, Surface Ships and Littoral Combat Ships for SUBMEPP. Conduct all aspects leading up to, facilitation, and completion of post workshop tasks.

Direct and monitor the preparation of Maintenance Plans to insure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Monitors the development of all maintenance planning logistics support such as MRCs, TFBRs and MRPs.
Review and approve Maintenance Plans, insuring that all required technical concurrences have been obtained, both within and external to SUBMEPP.
Chair meetings with technical personnel, within and external to SUBMEPP, to discuss and resolve technical problems.
Represent SUBMEPP at other Government and private activities.
Manage and direct the implementation of maintenance feedback analysis results to optimize Maintenance Plans. This includes managing or directing the preparation of studies related to maintenance planning.
Directly responsible for engineering and technical effort related to the development, coordination, review and approval of a wide variety of products for assigned submarine systems/components.
Prepared and maintained Combat Systems Test procedures and Pre- Arrival Tests for systems under my cognizance ensuring the assigned systems/components meet specifications and operate properly.

Directed daily operations of 35 personnel of the Combat Systems Department while sup- porting the Commanding Officer and the Mission of the ship.

Planned and directed complex maintenance periods where 1,000’s of man hours of maintenance were completed on 3 shifts in support of the ship being delivered 8 months ahead of schedule and 56 million dollars under budget.
As the Fire Control leading chief petty officer trained and supervised 6 crew members in the operation, maintenance and repair of the AN/BYG-1 combat control system resulting in the successful completion of several Virginia Class mission specific tests. 2004- Commander Submarine Atlantic Fleet Representative, Electric Boat, Groton, CT. 2007
Provided Supervision and Oversight of training and readiness for 3 New Construction crews and 5 Commissioned Ship maintenance periods at Electric Boat Shipyard. Con- ducted advance planning and conflict resolution for Major Chief of Naval Operations availabilities.
Evaluated all Weapons department and Navigation department training and readiness while providing timely feedback to Commanding Officers and Type Commander ensur- ing all crews were proficient and prepared for Sea Trials.
Reviewed Weapons handling documentation while providing critical oversight daily dur- ing Weapons system delivery acceptance testing. Coordinated efforts between shipyard and Navy experts to resolve several procedural documentation errors and technical short- falls.
