● Worked multiple holidays, evenings, and night shifts which included charge nurse when upper management were not in the building.
● Educating patients and families about changes that need to be made and coping with injury or diagnosis.
● This can include terminal diagnosis and/or paralysis.
● Worked with unfortunate situations where I had to notify children and youth services. I performed all nursing duties with professionalism, empathy with all parties involved while keeping the safety of the children as the main priority.
● Neonatal abstinence syndrome included constant observation, assessment, performing NAS scale to accurately dose newborn with morphine and clonidine going through withdrawal after birth.
● Ventilators (home ventilators were used), trach care, & airway management. Educating families to properly, appropriately triage, & troubleshoot complications while prioritizing care when they are at home after discharge.
● IV administration of iv fluids, antibiotics, or other iv medications that may be ordered by the physician.
