Kusile Power Station Project
Duties and responsibilities
Structural steel erection
● Assembly done according to drawings.
● Bolted connections include bolts, washers and nuts which are used according to part list. High strength connections to be arranged on the head and nut end.
● Tightening of non - preloaded bolts done according to HPE procedure.
● Tightening of preloaded bolts also done according to HPE procedure.
● Welding performed in accordance with ANSI/AWS D1.1.M or EN 1011-1 till 3.
● Welding materials qualified to ANSI/AWS D1.1.M or EN 15607.
● Straightening kept to a minimum.
● Marking and Identification during manufacture on the columns of the boiler structure.
● Inspection of welds distributed proportionately to the welders involved, the dimensions, materials and welding positions.
High pressure piping
● Main piping systems include: main steam piping, cold reheat steam system, hot reheat system, and feed water system and auxiliary steam system.
● The high pressure piping is an integral part of the station. It is therefore imperative that the erection of all the systems is done with due care and diligence paying particular attention to drawings and instructions.
● Marking of the piping components is done according to respective isometric drawings.
● When slinging the pipes care has to be taken that no damage on the pipes occurs.
● Marking of the piping centrelines using the actual boiler or turbine centreline as references.
● Measurement protocol attached to each method statement.
● Supports and supporting structure dimension of each support are specified in the detailed support drawings.
● The requirements for the piping will be in accordance with EN 13480-2 ● WPS in accordance to DIN EN ISO15609-1.
