Responsible for the daily kitchen operations of a Head Start kitchen, such as cooking, cleaning, ordering products and maintain a safe environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
Projected a professional image in appearance and personal conduct. Utilize a positive, professional, proactive, and innovative approach to work.
Prep and cooked meals in accordance with planned weekly menus. Implement the cycle menu in accordance with Matrix Head Start policies, procedures, and established practices; Head Start Performance Standards and the guidelines established by Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP).
Ensured that the children with special dietary needs are receiving supplements and/ or substitutions as prescribed; as indicated by the Registered Dietitian.
Ensured that the diets of children with special needs are posted in the kitchen and the classroom via food allergy/substitution list.
With the guidance of the Registered Dietitian, ensures the modification of recipes and prepares foods to meet the developmental needs of infants and toddlers and feeding needs of children with disabilities or food allergies.
Maintain established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments; maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen.
Prepared requisitions for food supplies and equipment
Received all food, condiments, paper/plastic and cleaning supplies for cooking Kitchen and satellite centers. Adjust satellite nutrition requisition orders and Transfer of food form as needed.
Unpacked and shelving food, equipment and supplies in appropriate storage areas

Maintained inventory and rotation of products in cooking kitchen.
