LABORTORY SCHOOL

Lab schools adopt progressive philosophy as part of their child-centric approach to education.

The goals for lab school are to conduct any high-quality research on second language Acquistion and classroom discourse and carry out systematic innovation through research drive enhancements to existing practice.

It’s the teacher’s role to ensure that the lab has working conditions that are safe with proper equipment that will not be a danger towards kids.

Most local community colleges do the program and some medical centers.

FAMILY CHILD CARE HOME

A family childcare is the most natural learning environment, it offers practical life skills and experience through positivity and learning environment.

The goal covers different areas through the home environment and daily program; supportive services, administration; and safety. It helps address the quality of a family childcare home.

The teacher’s role is to be a role model for the children -- making sure that the teaching environment is safe and enjoyable for the children.

There are churches and day cares that offer roles for children – Friends of Children of MS is a good one to look at.

MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Montessori had a goal for educational process to help cultivate a child’s desire to learn. He created a unique method to help them learn and understand the knowledge that is being handed to them.

To develop a positive attitude to learn, helping every child develop self-confidence, assisting a child to build a habit to concentrate, and developing habits of being persistent.

The teacher’s role is to observe, guide, supervise, and assess each child while they learn in the classroom.

The only local school is in Jackson and Ridgeland; Little Samaritan Montessori, The Montessori Academy of Jackson, Claudias Christian Montessori Academy

HEAD START

The Head Start program is an approach that a child can benefit from, it is an interdisciplinary program that fosters development and remedies problems that are expressed in different services.

To help young children develop learning skills, cognition, physical and motor skills, and social and emotional readiness.

Guiding students in their projects, taking children on trips, organizing activities, serving meals, and disciplining children.

KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten program embraces the concept of developing the whole child. It gives an understanding that children learn through active involvement and play and that children can represent knowledge in different ways.

To help them recognize numbers up to 10, learn how to sort objects, learn concepts of more and less, develop basic addition and subtraction skills, recognize basic patterns

To design a teaching plan, teach Abc’s, teach personal, social and emotional skills, use resources and material, use songs, stories, and games

PARENT COOPERATIVES

Is a preschool that is organized by a group of families to hire trained teachers to provide for their children.

To interact and get along socially, to develop strong, good concepts, be happy, cope with stressful situations.

To allow parents to come once a month to participate in the classroom as the duty parents which they help assist teachers.

UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Is an international movement to use public funding to ensure high-quality preschool that is available to all families.

To bring children of different racial and different backgrounds into the same PreK classrooms.

Teaching children about core concepts, such as numbers, colors, shapes, using different methods such as storytelling, Freeplay.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS

High School program is to help high school students gain knowledge and skill throughout the rest of high school.

They learn the outcomes and concepts in clear communication and problem-solving skills

SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE

Children K-14 years and up are cared for in a safe, enjoyable, and supportive environment, it helps teach social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

To provide a loving, caring atmosphere for the children.

Maintain safety that ensures that the children who are all enrolled are safe and supervised during all activities.

CHILD CARE CENTER

Childcare center has its own beliefs and values about the nature of child development, the role of childcare, and the methods and goals of education.

To strive to be the best teacher we can be while ensuring the safety of the children during all routines and activities.

The teacher’s role is to supervise the children during all routine and activities – including feeding and changing them. We also make sure we sanitize every toy after each use along with the changing table.
