EXPERIENCE
COUNSELING ASSISTANT/SOBRIETY CENTERS OF NH
February 2018-September 2020
Key responsibilities: Leading therapeutic groups for up to 21 women in a medically assisted detox center. Administering medications under a doctor’s license. Providing support and counseling on an as-needed basis. Organizing recovery-related activities for clients.
Writing DAP or SOAP formatted notes for each group and/or contact, while meeting the state requirements for funding, created a broad-based curriculum for women ages 18 to 60 on achieving lasting sobriety using a mix of current modalities of healing and treatment. Created a trauma informed training for both in house and incoming employees.
SUPPORT STAFF/HILLSBORO HOUSE NURSING HOME
June 2018 –March 2019
Key responsibilities: Cleaning the 45 rooms in the house up to code for each resident, as well as cooking for the home, following state requirements and standards of nutrition. Familiar with diagnostics surrounding feeding and medical orders, as well as the equipment used to feed the residents. Assisted with activities planning for the elderly residents. Left to work full time at the Sobriety Center.
CASE MANAGER/CROTCHED MOUNTAIN SCHOOL

Key responsibilities: Did case management for up to 60 students with significant disabilities. Attended all IEP and treatment meetings. Consulted with teachers, parents, and students to provide input into treatment plans. Ensured that services—Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Counseling, and Physical Therapy—were provided as outlined in the IEP. Organized all educational meetings and attended Treatment Team meetings for each student. When necessary, wrote safety plans for students.
EDUCATION
Hillsboro Deering High School, 2000.
All required general studies as well as advanced placement courses for college credit in Psychology, US History and English Literature. Award for Music Appreciation, classical guitar. Participated in yearbook, volunteer work at Hillsboro food and clothes pantry, consistent honor roll.
New England College: BA in English Literature with a minor in Philosophy. Award at Graduation the Peter Sylvester Philosophy award. GPA of 3.9 Participated in Student Government, worked for Buildings and Grounds as well at the school’s business office,

Completed internship at Crotched Mountain School. Worked under a licensed psychologist within the hospital and the residence; was included in rounds, with the head Doctor of Psychology as well as the physician in charge. Worked with a pilot program of mostly emotionally disabled teen aged children; completed almost all clinical hours with this group. Designed activities and programming, including art, vocational, and outdoor activities.
VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
Volunteer for AmeriCorps Vista Program 2005-2006. Completed training by forensic nurse over a month to become a court advocate, victim witness advocate. Attended trainings presented by CASA, DCYF, the head of the Coalition against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, as well as a training by a forensic nurse on sexual assault and a police training on crisis intervention (CIT training) and de-escalation. Volunteered as a court advocate for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in court houses, obtaining restraining orders and other relevant court orders. Worked on 24 hour crisis lines, doing emergency housing in our confidential shelter, as well as counseling 1:1 clients who walked into the center for advice and resources,
Volunteered at the Clothesline Project: raising awareness statewide for victims of domestic violence and abuse and helping to break the silence surrounding each individual’s experience.
Volunteered at the State Capital honoring all victims of DV and crime, speaking out about how all victims deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
Volunteered to jump out of an airplane in Orange MA to raise money for RAINN. (Rape, Abuse, Incest, National Network, run by Tori Amos).
