Current: Open Arms Christian Ministries, Lyons, IN, 2017 to present - Part-time Community Relations Director, primary duties are grant-writing, fundraising and public relations. Organized and was the lead for company’s annual 5K Run and Golf Scramble for past 6 years. Those two events have raised more than $66,000. Have been responsible for grant revenue exceeding $150,000 in the last two years. More than 40 years’ experience in the journalism/communication field. Started work professionally with my hometown newspaper in Tell City, IN at age 15. Greene County Daily World, Linton IN – 2004 to June 3, 2014. Served as co-editor of the Greene County Daily World, Linton, IN from Jan. 1, 2014 to June 3, 2014.

Promoted to assistant editor for the Greene County Daily World in April 2006. Previously, worked as news editor for The Evening World in Bloomfield (1994-2004) and the Linton Daily Citizen, prior to merger in April 2004 into the present-day Greene County Daily World.

Previously served as editor of the Gibson Star-Times in Fort Branch, Ind., Sullivan Daily Times (staff writer), Seymour Tribune (assignments editor), Knox County Daily News (news editor), Tell City News (sports editor and news editor), Farmington (Mo.) Evening Press

Newspaper Association, and Landmark Community Newspapers, Inc. Received a Bell Ringer Award from the Indiana State Teacher's Association for educational coverage in the newspaper.

Named honorary member of Indiana National Guard Unit 1-151 Combat Team, Company A, based in Linton for outstanding coverage of two deployments to the Middle East (2009). Honored by the Greene County Extension Service and 4-H Council for continuing coverage of activities (2011).

Community Activities

Served as photography judge for the Bloomfield Apple Festival Committee; the Greene County Extension

Homemakers Open Class Fair for a number of years; 4-H Fair Photography contests since 1998. Also, have assisted as judge of the Associated Press Managing Editors Newspaper Contest exchange with states of Illinois and Georgia through the Indiana Associated Press, Indianapolis Bureau.

Currently serve on the board of the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. Formerly member of community focus group that assisted in the planning and use of the WestGate Academy and Conference Center at WestGate at Crane Technology Park, Bloomfield Downtown Revitalization Committee.

Member of the Hoosier Press Association, Friends of the Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area, Greene County Bicentennial Planning Committee and focus planning group at Tulip Church of God.
