PROJECTS EXECUTED
ELECTRICAL LIGHTING INNOVATION
Awarded the BCCL Innovation award for the power savings with efforts put to reduce the consumption of electricity. The floor space handled is around 24675 sq ft, with 7700 sqft each floor. We have been provided with C & S hanging bus bar for light fittings, so each row was occupied with 18 LED lights of 128 amps each and switching on with one 3pole breaker.
As it is a Newsprint Company we work 24x7 each department functions different timings and weekends only 1/3 of the staff turn up for office. So the loss incurred was very high one in consumption of electricity and other is we would need to replace the LEDs as the age would be reduced. So to save the overall cost and prevent unnecessary loss. We started to segregate the lights as per function and the strength availability, and only those lights can be put on. We changed the 3 pole breaker to single pole breaker. Investment for the project was zero. Savings of Rs. 12000/- per month.
CHILL-IN CHILL-OUT
The project was to Replace New AHUs in place of Old AHUs in all three floors without hindering the business flow, the floors were supported through AHUs only. Phase-I, we planned the installations of all Outdoor Units, laying of copper pipes, electrical connections, communication lines etc. Once those activities were completed, Phase-II, we planned installation of Air Handling Units floor by floor. Dismantling of Old AHUs and installation of New AHUs parallelly was formulated to complete by 64 hours, but as work progressed day and night the first installation took us 52 hours with some hick-ups. Remaining floors were completed in less than 48 hours. Saving a cost of Rs.12 lakhs for temporary Air-conditioners and reduce the installation time to support the employees during the project work.
