Medical: Over 18 years as a medical professional. Current position in the Baptist Health System (BHS) is with Surgical Services, in-processing patients. Responsible for identifying and ordering all medical supplies on a weekly basis for Pre-operative surgeries. Perform semi-annual inventory of pre and post-operative supplies. Perform tracers in mock surveys to support Joint Commission preparation. Unit United Way Chairperson in 2017.

Previous assignment within BHS included being hand-picked reporting to the CNO for a special hospital assignment as the sole independent internal auditor, reviewing medical records for compliance, Selection was based upon medical knowledge, organizational skills, being a self -starter with great attention to detail, trust, and professionalism. Achieved 100% regional compliance for all of the audits.

Worked for 6.5 years in the fast- paced specialized outpatient area (Pedi Q/Express Testing) within the emergency department whose primary focus is lab testing on children who are sick and pre-operational tests on adult patients. Perform blood draws, urinary catheterizations, EKG’s and other testing. Excellent communication skills are required to perform this job effectively, since many of the patients are Special Needs and require a different approach.

Over 9 years’ experience in the Pediatric Emergency Room, applying all facets of medical care, treatment, and support in a highly critical, stressful and a life-threatening environment. Responsible for the continuing care of patients in 16 treatment rooms and 2 trauma rooms, as the only pediatric emergency technician on-duty during a twelve-hour shift. Provide medical and administrative support to attending physicians as needed, to include assisting physicians during emergency treatment of patients. Perform specialized allergy and genetic testing and directly interface with the ordering physician and the laboratory when orders need clarification. Provide the unit’s administrative support, responsible for ordering all lab tests and x-rays. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and continuity of patients’ medical charts. Attention to detail and time management skills are significantly important in this job to include delegation, adaptation, and prioritization.

Interpersonal: Responsible for maintaining excellent staff relationships with other units within the hospital. Help calm patients, from infant to 16 years of age, while they are in the care of the hospital emergency room staff. Received numerous favorable communications acknowledgements from the parents of patients, ER Physicians, and other members of the hospital staff over the past 12 years.

Training and Development: Completed multiple internal training courses. Completed the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course. Previously employed as a registered Massage Therapist, completing a 12-month certification program, caring for post operative patients and providing Swedish Massages for clients in their homes and offices. Licensed EMT for the State of Maryland.
