I was brought on with no hotel experience and got two 8 hour shifts worth of training on Night Audit. The next night I worked the shift by myself, and from then on. I quickly learned the programs and the job of closing one day and starting the next. I was able to adapt to changing tasks as new programs were instituted, such as Resort Fees. I trained multiple people to be able to fill in for me on days off. I noticed how difficult it was using the checklist that existed, so I wrote a new one.
I wrote it so that anyone who had familiarity with the programs would be able to do the job of Night Auditor, start to finish. The checklist proved it’s worth as I trained more people. I have attention to detail and am able to spot mistakes, in order to fix them. I enjoy working the overnight shift and I am confident in my abilities. Homemaker/caregiver
