Job Duties:

At the New Cumberland Army Dept I work as a Material Handler independently performing varied duties involving the integrated management and control of assigned items and material.

I am responsible for accomplishing complete warehouse operations which includes receiving, storing, shipping and issuing items on a continuing basis. Packs, unpacks, sorts, counts/tallies, stacks and transfers material as necessary.

I am responsible for ensuring weight of the material was correct and the material was banded, strapped or wrapped to the pallets assuring that material was stable and would arrive to customer in a satisfactory manner, while making sure all accompanying documentations was present for shipment and visible.

I utilize MHE (Material Handling Equipment) ie. Cranes and forklifts, according to documentation on putaway labels.

Identify material for transport to East Bulk warehouses and Mechanicsburg locations.

Visually inspects pallets to ensure material arrives at destination securely.

I work with hazardous materials loading and unloading. Identify weight of shipments using shipping documentation.

Familiar with condition codes on documents.

Prints Receipt Control Number (RCN) labels for New Procurement and Returns.

Match material and manifest utilizing National Stock Numbers and Professional Routing Order numbers. Place material in proper locations to ensure processing is completed correctly.

Demonstrates knowledge using varied computer inventory applications to retrieve, create and edit documents with regards to procurement.

Analyze products for the proper transportation to designated area.

Work in a team environment to ensure inventory accuracy and availability of stock to fulfill product demands.

Job duties:

I am a licensed United States Government forklift operator with OSHA certification and a perfect safety record.

I work as a warehouse forklift operator for Metallum Management at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot.

I can operate forklift trucks with a lifting capacity of 4,000 pound loads or more and other material handling equipment such as a tug tractor, boom tractor, and front end loader both inside and outside of the warehouse.

Primary job responsibilities include receiving, unloading, identifying, and processing incoming batch lot and other property.

I possess an understanding of general warehouse layouts to ensure pallets are stacked and stored in accordance with management’s warehouse plan.

I am able to read shipping manifests to identify, select, retrieve, prepare and load the proper shipping items.

I prepare, maintain and verify documentation associated with shipping and receiving inventory to determine if the disposal property correctly matches the proper stock number, nomenclature, quantity, unit of issue, disposal authority code, Demil code, and condition code.

I review and verify the shipping document information on the disposal turn-in documents (dtid), to determine if the property was eligible for re-utilization, transfer, donation, or be demilitarized.

Some responsibilities include keeping supplies on hand for the weekly pull, such as banding, building and stocking tri-walls, and ensuring supplies were readily available to complete the job such as shrink wrap. I also empty dumpsters in the work area to maintain a safe and organized work area to promote safety and dexterity within the area of operation.

Other duties include performing operational tests on the forklifts to verify mechanical performance prior to loading on retrieval equipment.

I coordinate maintenance schedules and perform such clerical tasks as maintaining a log book, assignment boards and movement sheets.

I have received certification of appreciation for outstanding performance working involving constant walking, bending, stooping, standing, working in cramped and awkward positions, and lifting up to 70 pounds.

I perform duties including moderate to heavy physical effort when loading equipment to be transported and during tractor operation.

I receive, open and sort incoming freight and correspondence. I route or ship to appropriate office or official.

I process all class of incoming and outgoing freight dispatched through commercial distributor. This includes those sent registered, certified, priority, overnight, and next day air/ground in accordance with agency and express companies’ requirements.

I process and expedite stock control numbers including material release orders, shortages and stows.

I am responsible for stock selection, stowing material, location surveys, physical inventory, material handling, material examining and identifying, packaging, and operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

I receive, unload, and process incoming shipments and check the accompanying documentation against the container or packing labels.

I follow established procedures in reporting overages, shortages, misdirected shipments, and damaged materials. I pack and/or repack a variety of items utilizing a wide variety of standard packing materials, methods and techniques. I also determine the appropriate method of packing based on the type of commodity/item to be packed.

I assemble items for shipment in the loading area according to information provided on the shipping request and I check the condition of shipping containers prior to loading. I also ensure that shipments are properly loaded onto the right conveyances.

I visually inspect packages for correct mailing address and packing techniques.

I am familiar with condition and classification levels as well as scrap classification levels (scrap class list)

I use a computer to accomplish the following duties: process receipts, stow material, identify and work discrepancies in picks, receipts, packs, and stows.

I take corrective actions and make suggestions to work operations. I also perform inquires to resolve receipts problems and to identify material or match requirements to national stock number.

Operates and performs maintenance on a variety of both manual and automated equipment.

Operate one or more of the following material handling equipment which includes but is not limited to forklifts with a lift capability of lifting loads weighing up to 15,000 pounds, warehouse tractors, and stock selectors to move, transfer, and/or transport material.

I am always aware of my surroundings and keep my work area clean and uncluttered.

Safety is top priority so I always wear my safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and my seatbelt when operating machinery.

I also make sure the inside and outside of the building is clean and there is nothing on the ground that could create a safety mishap.

Job duties:

When I first started at El Rodeo I was hired as a server and a stock room employee full time. I have developed excellent customer service skills while being a server because I directly deal with the customer face to face and am able to resolve issues in a professional manner. I use my customer service skills in the stockroom as well dealing with the truck drivers and the companies we receive our supplies from. If there are issues I work to correct them in a timely manner.

I am required to stock and clean the front area and also the stockroom. I am able to lift 40 plus lbs. I do inventory of all items received and housed at El Rodeo. I correctly label items that are labeled incorrectly.

Working as a server I have learned to work in a fast-pace environment effectively and as a team. Teamwork is a big part of working at El Rodeo. I am able to prioritize and manage my time well when it comes to balancing my work as a server and a stock room employee.

I work safely and efficiently making sure that I wear the correct shoes to prevent slips on wet floors and also steal toes, gloves, safety glasses, etc. as appropriate and needed for working in the stockroom. Since starting at El Rodeo I have an outstanding safety rating.

After working as a server and a stock room employee I proved myself worthy of becoming the assistant manager. When I accepted this position I worked full time. I still hold this position currently but working part time due to my full time job with Metallum Management at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot.

As an assistant manager I am now responsible for overseeing the other employees such as servers, cooks, hosts, etc. I make sure that every employee is doing their job properly and efficiently. I am always available to help the employees with their duties, especially if we are short staffed or busy. I make sure all employees are trained properly and have all the necessary tools, equipment, knowledge and understanding to do their job to the best of their ability.

I do the food and merchandise ordering for the restaurant and the alcohol and liquor for the bar.

I am trained to do payroll and help my supervisor with that task often. I am fully trusted with the handling of all money within El Rodeo.

As an assistant manager I do required maintenance within the restaurant. For example, if a machine is malfunctioning I possess the skills and knowledge to fix that machine to function until it can be properly fixed. I also inspect El Rodeo to make sure that it meets all off the requirements for OSHA inspections. I make sure that the restaurant stays clean and tidy to prevent safety mishaps.
