Prior Duties & Information

My duties as a Loss Prevention Agent included searching for, responding to and handling any Security problems, issues, concerns and disaster emergency situations in accordance with all policies procedures and regulations to ensure the safety and security of the hotels assets, guests and associates.

I patrol all areas of the hotel property; I note, search for, handle and report any unusual circumstances, safety violations, car theft, destruction and/ or suspicious or undesirable persons and escort off property, if necessary. I closely monitor the activity in the lounge area during the hours of operation and assist when necessary.

I document all incidents including, but not limited to, theft, accidents, and safety violations. I complete the necessary security forms to document losses or personal injury to guests or associates. All reports are computer generated.

I maintain familiarity of all hotel disaster and emergency alarms or calls for help, determine course of action, and notify appropriate authorities.

I conduct investigations of security incidents. I maintain security of hotel key system. I maintain security of the hotel associate system. Issue and receive radios on a computerized radio control program. I also monitor the video surveillance system throughout the entire resort.

I escort and witness cash handling as needed and assisting in shipping and receiving operations.

I perform other duties as assigned, which include but not limited to, assisting guests during check in and out, escorting guests around the grounds, delivery of early check out forms to each room, collect room service tickets, and assist with telephone inquiries.

Hotel statistics: The Renaissance Jamaica Grande is one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean Islands. It is an all-inclusive resort with 708 rooms in two separate towers, 11 floors, 15 suits, and 9 meeting rooms.

My duties as a Security Officer included standing guard at the front gate, roving walking patrol through the resort grounds and guests areas to ensure the safety and security of the guest and associates. I also worked at special events and crowd control.

I had daily interaction with multi- national guests from around the world.
