Objective

I am seeking employment as a sub-contractor or full-time employee, preferably in training or consulting in the machine shop trade. I am up for a challenge and looking for a situation that would be beneficial to both of us. I have excellent references and am highly skilled in my profession. I have been Programming and machining for over 40 years.

Work Experience

Senior Applications Engineer

8/2020 – present Rosco Manufacturing, Central Falls, RI

Hired as a sub-contractor, I eliminated an operation on bolt carriers by combining two processes into one. It cut cycle time to free up the machine to use for something else. Developed a new process for a pistol barrel on the lathe and a milling machine. Set up and repaired an ID grinder to keep in production after a spindle rebuild. Designed a way to drastically cut down on the amount of scrap produced every day. Taught and nurtured some people there to be better on the machines. Around 80 machines there and I am able to set up and run most all of them.

Milling Manager/Senior Applications Engineer

4/2015 – 8/2020 Jade Plastics Bristol, RI

Ran Milling dept w/6 people, quote, process, fixture, program & setup all the new jobs coming in house. Found ways to improve processes and cut cycle time down significantly in the milling and the lathe departments. Machines I was in charge of, among others, Robodrills, Kiwa horizontal, Haas mill, Nakamura-Tome w/2 turrets, both Y axis, live tooling and sub spindle. I also trained all personnel to run and setup all these machines. Some people were also learning to program.

Senior Applications Engineer

9/2013 – 4/2015 BK Components Berlin, Ct

Worked on various turnkeys around the country, making different parts from firearms to plastic parts. We would come up with a concept on how to make and hold the parts. Design the fixtures, write the programs and complete the runoff at the customer’s facility. Worked at Christensen Arms making the 1911 handgun and an AR-15. Made a .50 caliper receiver for a lever action rifle. Made several types of plastic parts on a vertical machine with a 5 axis. Set up and taught a horizontal machine with 6 pallets.

CNC Lead Machine Shop Foreman

7/2008 – 9/2013 eMachineshop.com Mahwah, NJ

Oversee all operations of the shop with a water jet, 3 CNC mills, CNC lathe, CNC brake, powder coating, circuit board assembly and complete inspection equipment. Part processing and programming for all jobs in house. Responsible for the training, safety and operating of 4 people on all machines. Direct programmers in the development of our own CAM software. Continually upgrade and optimize the on-line pricing CAD software. Communicate with the customers with problems and better designing of their parts.
