EXPERIENCE

CYBERSPACE OPERATIONS PLANNER

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center – Twentynine Palms, CA 01/2021 – Present

40 hours/week

Responsible for coordinating with the Marine Corps Red Team (MCRT) to provide support in reference to the MAGTF Warfighting Exercise (MWX) that we support out at Camp Wilson. Submit Feasibility of Support (FOS) seven weeks prior to Warm Start of MWX, requesting people and gear to provide support for the Adversary Force (ADFOR) and Exercise Force (EXFOR) during MWX. Provide a CONOP’s template for the ADFOR and EXFOR to use during the MWX, to request cyber fires from the MCRT and submit CONOP’s to Gamepath to allow the MCRT to Close Access Test (CAT)) and recon prior to start of MWX. Work with outside entities (MARFORCYBER) to provide timelines and activities that the MCRT can use for cyber effects during the MWX.

Key Achievements:

Coordinated with higher, adjacent, subordinate personnel and entities to create a Cyberspace contested environment to exercise Commander’s reactions to the attacks against their network.

Provided expertise and trusted agents on multiple MWX’s with Non-Disclosure Agreements to address critical gaps within network infrastructure, policy, or security practices.

Provided Video Telephone support for daily Hotwashes with the TA’s to discuss the Cyber effects and what they would like to see moving forward.

DATA NETWORK SPECIALIST TRAINER

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center – Twentynine Palms, CA 07/2017 – 10/2020

Provide logistical support to the Communication Training Battalion which trains approximately 3,000 Marines a year. Ensure gear is set in place for field exercises, which consists of contacting outside entities to fulfill the requirements of gear such as tents, water, ventilation systems, and hygiene systems. Brief the Commander on the status of gear, plan courses, and account for each Marine during large training exercises.

Key Achievements:

Supervised a group of 1400 Marines during physical training event, and provided protective equipment to conduct pugil sticks competition, as well as provided fruit for nutrition.

Provided 8 tents consisting of 305 and 505 tents for the new officer’s field exercises that were conducted to test the new communication officers ability to set up in a field environment.

Developed a Safety organization for the Communication Training Battalion, to promote safety and ensure that the Marine Corps Safety Orders and Directives were being adhered to.

Established a cable connection to provide cable television to the entry level Marines that were residing in the barracks.

Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command – Fort Meade, MD 07/2013 – 07/2017

Provide subject matter expertise in support of Marine Corps enterprise Cyber Security (CS) operational requirements. Identify critical enterprise security gaps (people, processes, and technology) and design corrective solutions and/or countermeasures. Author technical cyber directives affecting the entirety of the Marine Corps networks, strengthening the defensive posture and decreasing the potential of network intrusions. Scheduled Video Telephone Conferences reaching out to other components of the military.

U.S. Marine Corps MARSOC (Marine Special Operations Command) 1st MSOB 07/2008-07/2013

Camp Pendleton, CA 40 hours/week

Establish and administer the data hierarchy within the Special Operations community using a tactical satellite transmission producing a Class “C” IP based network. Administered over 1000 user accounts on multiple ESX Servers over VMWare, the ESX Servers consisted of an exchange server, domain controller, and sharepoint server. Managed four technicians to provide support and complete trouble tickets within the Special Operations community as well as supported ten different teams located across Afghanistan. Provide help desk support to the Command consisting of over 300 individuals, ensuring network connection, hardware and software issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Achievements

Supported 7 different teams located across Western Afghanistan, with e-mail accounts as well as actively providing communication services by satellite and radio.

As the only Network Administrator on Calero in Afghanistan, managed the administration of the network to include routing protocols, switch configurations, and server applications.

Planned, and coordinated the network implementation for multiple diverse locations around the world to ensure users were capable of performing their jobs in remote locations, far removed from their offices.

U.S. Marine Corps MARFORCOM (Marine Forces Command) – Norfolk, VA 09/2005-07/2008

Maintained a steady flow of Defense Message traffic throughout the world to maintain continuity and operations. Supervised 12 Marines in providing sufficient VTC and data support to users across the command. Provided help desk support to users within the 130+ member organization to include software installs, e-mail account creations, and asset management.

Worked as a Level 1, and occasional Level 2 help desk technician performing 300+ re-images of machines, resetting hundreds of user passwords, and incidental hardware exchanges (RAM, Peripherals, etc.)
