VOLUNTEER WORK

●Hydrocephalus Walk- Gadsden, AL, 35901, Sports Complex Stadium- A walk to experience the life of a Hydrocephalus patient and learn the situations and causes of one to have and raising awareness to one day find a cure to fight the condition of the brain. (From 2011 to 2018- 4 hours per yearly walk.)

●Volunteer Soup Kitchen- Oxford, AL, 36203, Oxford Community Soup Kitchen-To help people who are less likely to have homes to come to or a meal to eat at night, trying to give back to individuals that are not given the opportunity to eat or to have shelter to come to. (From 2014 to current- 6 hours per service.)

●Relay for Life Walk- Anniston, AL, 36201, Anniston's REC Center- A walk to show awareness to the patients that struggle alongside their lives but fight along with them teaching them that they are not alone. (From 2012 to current- about 3 to 4 hours on a yearly walk.)

●Nursing Home Visits- Jacksonville, AL, Anniston AL, and in Rainbow Omega Nursing Centers- A visit to help assure to the community within the nursing home that we are still “with” them with support from Churches, and Honor Society Volunteer works to help provide Christmas and enjoyment even through passing hours (From 2014 to 2018- about 5 hours a visit for one day a week).

●Habitat for Humanity- Anniston, AL- An organization that establishes living areas for people in need of financial stability, and also helps to serve within the community. The organization is also known for their thrift store entailed with furniture, yard equipment, clothes, technology, hoses, dishes, mostly utilized as a donate and sell type of thrift store (From 2015 to 2020- volunteering at the local community of Anniston for 3 days a week to help building houses for people that are in need of a home with local resources).

●Respite Nights -Anniston, AL, McClellan First Baptist Church- The church would host an event on every Friday of the month to allow children to have a place to enjoy being around different people. Also, the parents would get a chance for a date night or to simply enjoy the evening during this time. During this event, there would be movies playing on the big screen, food, dessert and snacks to last through the majority of the evening, and there were different activities that the children were able to participate in as well.
