Self-Reflection
Interpersonal competence is the ability to interact with others and with the community. Basically, what this means is how a person talks to or interacts with another person or multiple people. Some examples of interpersonal competence is clear communication skills, awareness, and caring about others. Interpersonal competence is a good skill to have. It is also an important skill to have in general and in life.
Coming into this semester and taking this class I thought that I had to talk a lot, and I thought I had signed up for the wrong class. After taking this class though it is not bad at all. I did enjoy this class and if I could I would take it again.
I think one of my favorite things we talked about this semester was relationships. I learned a lot about how you should be treated in a relationship. My favorite was talking about the positives in relationships because it makes you feel loved, wanted, and secure. My second favorite thing to talk about was definitely knowing more about yourself and accepting yourself.
One of the guidelines of interpersonal communication is understanding the person better. What I mean by this is understanding another person better and talking to another person.
Another guideline is to be clear about what you are doing. What I mean by this is being more clearer when you talk.
In conclusion, I enjoyed this class and would take it again, if I could. This class teaches you a lot, and it really is not that bad to take this class.
