Preparing Engineering document, Application procedure, BOQ etc.
Monitor the installation, inspection, testing and repair of refractory linings to ensure that they comply with applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements.
Follow up Laboratory testing procedures including: o Test methods-BIS & ASTM Slander (MOR, CCS, PLC, Density, Thermal conductivity, Abrasion testing, PEC, Tensile strength etc.) and related calculations o Follow with laboratory for traceability of testing. o Material Qualification
o Testing equipment, sample preparation techniques, dimensional requirements for test specimens.
o Various materials utilized (for example, plastic, ceramic fiber, anchor, metal fiber, corrosion coatings, etc.)
o Curing and firing procedures.
o Acceptance/rejection criteria.
Follow up Installation of refractory linings to include: o Detailed knowledge of execution plan including design details and quality standards. o Inspection report preparation as per QAP/ITP.
o Mock Up & APQ test.
o Packaging and storage requirements.
o Surface preparation and cleanliness requirements. o Anchor: welding, layouts, patterns, materials selection. o Frequency and methods of production sampling: gunning, casting, hand packing o Water addition: quantity and temperature, mixing procedures. o Water certification.
o Fiber addition: percentage, material, mixing.
o Installation environmental controls (minimum and maximum temperatures) water as well as weather temp.
o Foam work/shuttering requirement.
o Gunite procedures and equipment, including variables that affect gunite quality (i.e., air pressure, humidity, temperature, aging, water pressure, water purity, additives) o Vaibro Casting -procedures and equipment (e.g., air vibrator, vibrator frequency, vibrator sizing,forming, and setup)
o Ramming and hand packing procedures and equipment. o Single & duel layer casting.
Follow up Inspection, to include:
o Lining design and installation requirements.
o Inspection and data collection procedures
o Terminology, job specifications, and application standards o Visual and non-destructive test methods and qualification testing methods o Application/limitation for various inspection techniques (for example, hammer testing, radiography, core sampling, portable abrasion testing) o Material verification and traceability
o Acceptance and rejection criteria
o Repair procedures
o Curing and dry out procedures.
