My goal is to also prepare the Cisco student to take the Industry Cisco Certified Network Associate exam. The courses I teach are 30% class work and 70% hands-on. Transferred from Great American Insurance Company in April of 1993. Responsible for setting up the Cincinnati site after the acquisition. Duties included everything from working with cable contractors to purchasing the equipment, and the installation of the network server and users’ workstations. Worked with the local telephone company in ordering lines, equipment, and installing, configuring, and testing the connection to Los Angeles site. Spent 3 months traveling to L.A. to inventory the equipment and software which was scheduled to be relocated to Cincinnati. Worked with the different department heads to see what their individual needs were for their re-location, and handled all the purchasing of equipment and software for the Cincinnati site. Once the relocation was complete, was responsible for returning to L.A. and assisting in the close of the company.
Hired a staff to work on the network as well as PC support for the 350 users in Cincinnati. Functioned as Supervisor and Lead LAN Administrator. Handled all performance reviews as well as the budget for the department. The network environment grew to 4 servers to accommodate 500+ users. Implemented the backbone/infrastructure of the LAN to accommodate both the Chiquita building and 580 building. Traveled to Minneapolis to setup the FSTNT server and purchased new users’ workstations for set up and installation. Designed the layout of the network-printing environment and implemented a Microsoft Mail Email system.

Started career at Great American Insurance Company, as a Claims Clerk in their Blue Ash office. In addition to duties as a Claims Clerk, was also in charge of the computer equipment because of my background and education in computers. Responsible for proposing new computer hardware and software for the department. Transferred to American Financial Corporation as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Again became responsible for departmental computers, including hardware (server) and software. Promoted and then transferred back to Great American Insurance, as a Senior Claims Clerk/ LAN Administrator. Supported an Arcnet Novell Netware 2.15 server and 30 users. Attended formal training on the Novell Netware operating system. Received a notable letter of achievement on my completing the course with a 100% and top in the class. Was promoted to LAN Administrator over Accounting Departments. Inherited 2 token-ring Novell Netware 3.11 servers, 2 gateways, and about 300 users. Provided all the support both PC and network configurations. Also handled the purchasing of new equipment and software. Was responsible for the Fixed Asset inventory. Traveled to several Great American Insurance Co. offices around the US to do a company wide inventory for Fixed Assets. Attended formal Novell Training on Novell Netware 3.11 operating system. I personally supported the Executive offices to include the Office of the Chairman, Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President, both at home and work.
