AREAS OF EXPERTISE

I am currently working and have working experience of 10 years as Shift Charge Engineer at Combined Cycle Power Plant & open cycle Alshoaiba power plant Basra, Iraq 250 MW with 2 125MW GE Frame MS9001EA Gas turbine (14 combustors, axial flow rotary 17 stages compressor) with Mark6 control system. (Hilla Power Plant 250MW) Hilla, Iraq having GE Frame MS9001EA Gas turbine (14 combustors, axial flow rotary 17 stages compressor) with Mark6 control system. I have served at Orient Power Plant, Balloki, Lahore, Pakistan & Sapphire Power Plant, Muridke, Pakistan during the erection and commissioning stage from Consultant side as a Control Room Operator. This composition of Muridke 234MW Power Plant (CCPP) consist of 2 x Gas turbine GE 6FA 70 MW and 1 unit of Steam turbine 77 MW Skoda make Steam Turbine, for the generated power dispersal there was a 132kV AIS Substation. Whereas the composition of the Balloki 225MW Combine Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) was of 2 Units of 2 x Gas turbine GE 6FA 70 MW and 1 unit of Steam turbine 77 MW Skoda make Steam Turbine, for the dispersal of generated power and feeding it to National Grid Distribution System; there was a 132kV AIS Substation. Shift Charge Engineer

Major Responsibilities

To operate the plant safely and efficiently during his shift.

To participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.

To issue and cancel work permits in the capacity of Senior Authorized Person.

To be responsible to carry out the required isolation/de-Isolation in the process.

To coordinate with the Plant Operations Engineer, and other departments of this plant.

To keep the Ops. Manger or his designee informed of any unusual incident.

To generate report such as generation reports, incident, accident and near miss.

To make periodic rounds of power plant observing conditions, note abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.

To coordinate with NCC and Oil Refinery for load management and HFO requirements respectively in accordance with operating procedures and as required under O&M.

To write Daily Shift report for operational activities.

To check and verify daily log sheets to determine proper operation of the equipment.

To handle plant emergencies by effective coordination, team work, timely and prudent decisions.

To comply with all EHS policies & Quality Assurance procedures as developed and implemented at site in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

To impart training and supervise the work of subordinate staff.

To carry out periodic safety drill and shall lead emergency response team whenever an emergency situation emerges.

To carry out LOTO audit at each month end.

To ensure the proper housekeeping of his designated plant area.

To ensure hazardous waste in the plant areas are secured safely in line with the plant safety policy.

CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR & PLANT OPERATOR

Major Responsibilities

Commissioning of 225 MW CCPP Balloki Power Plant. I worked with Skoda power TA's in the commissioning of Skoda Power Steam Turbine.

I have also worked on Siemens PCS 7 and ensured the safe, efficient and smooth operation of plant according to OEM recommendations while taking care of load demand of NPCC and RCC.

Shift takes over and reviews the log book to determine the condition/status of each unit load and review the activities of previous shift such as tripping, shut downs and start up etc.

To review the sequence of event/alarm summary and parameters of plant and if any process value deviation or alarm found, clear this alarm/deviation by taking appropriate steps as per standard operating procedure.

Monitoring of running plant and trouble shooting in transient condition as per standard operating procedure.

Perform Startup and shut down of the plant in safe and efficient manners according to standard operating procedure.

Act as first response to emergency situation, take appropriate steps to stabilize the problem as much as possible, while simultaneously informing the shift in charge and other parties as included in the procedures to safe guard the personnel and unit.

Fill up Record sheets of Generator set hourly meter readings. Performs mechanical and electrical equipment isolation.

PLANT OPERATOR

Major Responsibilities

Ensure smooth operation, safe start up / shut down of Power Plant during the shift.

Identify Abnormalities in routine operation of the plant equipment and informing to CRO.

Perform monitoring and adjustments of Generator set parameters for the satisfactory Operation of the units.

Perform the job assigned in a timely and accurate manner; develop the initiative to learn and perform the Electrical and Mechanical skills independently and with confidence. Monitor and adjust vital Generator set parameters (i.e. kW, Amp, kVAR, p.f. etc.) for the satisfactory operation of the units.

Fill up Record sheets of Generator set hourly meter readings. Performs mechanical and electrical equipment isolation.
