Immunohistochemistry technician with over nine years of confidence generating competency in all aspects of clinical routine histology as an ASCP certified HTL (CMP). oProcessing of paper work utilizing Laboratory Informatics System

oParaffin embedding of processed tissues and Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks
oPrepare slides for routine H&E staining, IHC and Special Stains
oResponsible for more than a 100 Immunohistochemistry (IHC) stains utilizing monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies using automated platforms
oInSitu hybridization (ISH), in particular Kappa and Lambda, performed on a routine basis on bone marrow as well as Eber ISH on other body tissues
oExperience with most instrumentation used in Histology/ Immunohistochemistry
such as Tissue Tech H&E stainers, Automated Leica microtomes, Ventana Benchmark Ultra and Leica Bond for IHC and ISH, and Ventana Nexes and Dako for Special Stains
oPrepare solutions, cut controls, and perform all requested Special Stains manually or by automation (Ventana Nexes, Dako)
oResponsible for selection and sectioning of appropriate controls for IHC and Special Stains
oSuccessful interaction with all Field Service Agents
oPerform filing of all examined slides and blocks
oInvolved in the Validation of protocols for new Antibodies and new Instrumentation in accordance with CAP guidelines.
oAdhere to laboratory Quality Control /Quality Assurance policies and daily documentation where needed
oAddress and troubleshoot deficiencies as deemed necessary in routine processes
oWork on developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
oProvide coverage in the absence of colleagues
