Promoted to Senior Manager of Continuous Improvements and Training. Report to Vice President of Operations, responsible for focusing on improving new and existing methodologies to improve Brasstech Team Members knowledge of the best and safest way to produce products. Interface with Department and Plant Managers to support with departmental training and development needs. Lead and manage the lean manufacturing initiatives and direct supervision of Engineering Internship, Production Engineering Manager and Manufacturing Engineer team at 2 locations.

Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and CI 10/2014 to 01/202

Promoted to Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvements. Report to Vice President of Operations, responsible for leading waste reduction in the form of operating cost and working capital while improving safety, quality, and customer service level, lead and manage the lean manufacturing organization, systems, and processes including direct supervision of company Manufacturing Engineering. Managed direct report team of four maintenance technicians to ensure that all equipment operates at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality and schedule priorities. Developed and implemented manufacturing process by using appropriate six-sigma and lean manufacturing techniques, statistical design and process methodology. Manage the daily activities required for the efficient manufacture of plastic sheeting and bags. Implement and monitor policies and procedures to comply with all applicable state and federal safety/environment regulations and managed labor and variable manufacturing overhead costs.

Reduced direct labor cost from 11 to 9 Cents per pound by improving order and set-up changes.

Reduced customer returns from 1.65% to 0.42% by implementing and monitoring process parameters and operator training in product specifications, machines capability studies.

Led team of 5 direct-report supervisors and up to 80 indirect reports and managed P&L; oversaw all operations, accounting, quality, materials, maintenance, budgeting and pricing. Developed and managed company annual expense budget, safety programs, capital equipment, and implemented systems to improve customer satisfaction.

Redesigned existing molds and molded components to meet specifications within CPK of 2, resulted in 10% cost reduction and 15% decreases in manufacturing cycle time.

Improved customer service satisfaction level from 92% in 1998 to 98% in 1999 by re-designing delivery procedures and implementing effective total productive maintenance program.
