Work Experience

Team Member/Cook

Ampler Burgers/Burger King - Waco, TX

August 2022 to Present

I was a closing team member cook for Burger King and it was the usual fast food environment where I thrive in fast pace food service. I would work from 5PM-1AM. I am used to being the main line cook for the nighttime for about the last past 2-3 years and I was responsible for preparing food items such as the whooper, the Impossible Whooper which was a plant based hamburger made to order. I would restock condiments to be disbursed with customer orders on request. Also I would prepare french fry and all chicken items such as Nuggets, chicken sandwiches and many chicken varieties of items with the fryer. I learned how to filter out & change the oil that would have to be used for frying up the items as I would work a 5 day schedule with 2 days off usually. After each work shift I was required to wash all the days dishes and put them back on the drying rack for the morning shift. I also would empty all the trash bins in the large outside garage dumpster, and put new container bags in the trash bins. I would sweep the floors and I would always mop the kitchen floors and I would always keep a clean as i go work station. I used a broiler to cook the whooper meat patties, I am normally used to manning a middle sized restaurant flat top grill. I always tried to please & respond respectfully to my customers as I sometimes would have interactions with the people. I am usually doing what is asked of me, as I always like to work from the bottom of the team ladder to make my place as part of the kitchen team. I like to let my work speak for me & I had a good work ethic and was always optimistic about learning new things such as I would take initiative and help the customers with small things such as requests where I could assist with. I was willing to learn whatever skills I thought I could use to help me advance my position with the restaurant chain. I took pride in being able to feed people and I would always enjoy the customers satisfaction with the food that was served to them as I have been in the restaurant service for about almost 5 years now and In my previous work I was training for self serve certification for management position to be able to be promoted up within my company.
