I moved in with this brother and sister and the other person that was living there was abusing the 72 year
old male and his 75 year old sister. I was asked to stay because these 2 don't have anyone else to help
them and I enjoy doing it. I have worked for Sears Tele catalog for several years back in Roanoke Virginia
and I have done a lot of data entry for different companies including The United States Post Office and
Amerigroup. I have found several work at home jobs and the thing is I make more money doing that then
I ever did as a Certified Nursing Assistant and that's the sad truth. Our nations CNAs deserve a lot more
pay then what they are getting now.

This was a very hard job because they literally couldn't keep a staff. There were days where it was me
and 1 other taking care of all 5 halls including isolation units. Proper care can not be given under those
conditions and I finally left because of that. I don't mind the hard work but those working conditions are
totally unacceptable. Changing residents giving showers when we had enough staff to do so. Feeding
residents and passing food trays. Helping with all ADLs is basically what we did. Reporting any changes
to the charge nurse as well.

I had a house fire and had to leave but came back to a disaster at The Highlands. I love the patients
but not enough help makes it really rough. I feed, give baths, serve the people anyway I can and give them everything they want that's within reason and allowed. I can move quickly when I need to but also
taking my time to listen to my patients and their stories and accomplishments in their lifetimes really
makes them feel wanted and it puts a smile on their face. If I can make my patients smile then I know
I'm doing a good job.

was very nice and helpful. Always had to be very quiet and not run up on anyone because of the patients
