Resume:

My Weir High School years from ****-**. I participated in 3 sports. Football,Wrestling and Track and field. In football I was the leading rusher and leading scorer in my Junior and Senior years. My senior year at homecoming I promised a disabled kid in a wheelchair that I would score him 2 touchdowns. But I didn't do it! I scored him 4 touchdowns instead!

He was so happy. So was the team and the coaches and the fans and parents and me of course! I had 18 division 1 major football scholarships. Even Penn State. But the day I visited Penn State Joe Paterno's son was in a tragic car accident And get to meet him so I chose Southern Illinois University for 1 reason. Gale Sayers (one of best running backs to ever play the game) was their Athletic director. He comes to our little home town and signed me and we took photos and he also ate dinner at our house. Then I Wrestled and my senior year I went to State Championships again and I had to wrestle the defending State Champion! I faced him 3 times in regular season and he beat by one everytime. And guess what! I pinned him and won. Then I went on to win the State Championship. On my 18th birthday! What a a present! What I did never happens. Nobody ever beats a State Champion in State Championships. And absolutely never ever pins them. I received 12 major College Wrestling Scholarships. My Senior year in Track and Field I broke 3 school records that held since the early 70's The 110 meter high hurdles

14.45 and the 180 yard low hurdles 20.1 and the long jump record I broke the very last jump of my high school career. The record was set in 1961 and this was 1978. The record was 22ft 4.5 inches I broke it with my last jump of my career 22 ft 6.5 inches. Loved it. You talk about adrenalin! So on with my jobs list. (Sorry that was so long too!)

About a week before we were supposed to graduate. My cadre Non commissioned officers told me to report to the office. I thought I did something wrong. When I went in and my primary NCO. Sergeant First Class Turner asked me? Do you want the good news or the bad news first? I said I'LL TAKE THE BAD NEWS FIRST SEARGENT! He said I'm sorry to inform you but you have to write up a speech for our Graduation ceremony. You and a 3 Star General will be speaking that day! (Turns out the day we graduated was coldest day on record in Fort Benning GA. The had to pass out blankets to the audience. 42 degrees. Everybody was froze and we roasted our butts off for 3 months and now this in 23Jul1981. Later when We did our speeches the General looked at me and my mouth is frozen how in the hell am I gonna do this speech? I said I no Sir mine is two. But I told him we had to DRIVE ON! Because we are Infantry Soldiers. He said Damn right Soldier. In front of 700 soldiers!) He saw I had a big question mark on my face. Well he said now for the good news! All of our NCO's and officers in the whole Battalion voted and picked an Honor Graduate for the whole Battalion of over 700 Soldiers. So I would like to be the first to congratulate you on our pick for Honor Graduate or the so called soldier of the cycle. He said there was nobody even a close 2nd. He told me he has Been a Drill instructor for 20 years and nobody and I mean nobody has ever accomplished or achieved what you have done Son! I told this was the biggest Honor of my life. Thank you so very much and the rest of the Sargents congratulated me. SFC. Turner said get out there. The rest of company E is waiting to congratulate you! I said thank you very much again. But I need to tell you something first. He said what is it? I said when I came her 14 weeks ago I was 21 years old. I thought I was a man amongst all those 18 year olds. Damn was I wrong! But the day we graduate is when I become a man! He said your a man more now than you'll ever be. The way you helped your fellow Soldiers accomplish all their missions and tasks. We all thank you for that. He told me one more thing. Before you go I have to make a presentation to you. He then placed an Army Achievement Medal around my neck. He said it took him 10 years to get one of those and it only took me 3 months. He said that was an Xtra bonus upon the advice

and recommendation of 20 NCO's and 10 Officers. That you receive this award.(Sorry so long.) Then they sent my wife and son and I to Germany. It was beautiful. I received my SGT stripes From this unit. Then they sent me to Fort Lewis WA. So much beautiful forest and Mt. Ranier was Just Amazing! That's when I started my ambition to be a Forest Ranger. Lol. My 4 years were up so we went back to West Virginia. I started my own automotive commercial and industrial radiator service. And auto mechanical and A/c service. Plus I started working the night shift as Deputy Sheriff. Did that for 8 years and then the Steel mill hired me back in 1996. Then I did all 3 jobs. My 3 sons helped me at the radiator shop and my Dad did to. All was great until the steel mill got rid of everybody with less than 25 years in 2008. New owner bought us out. He promised he wasn't going to lay anybody off. And he didn't. Just 30 days after he bought the mill he just shut it all down! Only thing left was the tin mill. Finishing mill only. Then he scrapped the rest of the mill. Made 5 times more than he payed for it!

I had 24 years and 9 months. He went from 8000 employees to 250. And our pension plan was worth a half billion dollars He sent the money to the govt pension fund. But low and behold he only sent 250 million dollars. What a screw job Then I was on unemployment for couple Years. But during that time I was hired as my high schools Head Wrestling. Those boys did a great job for me the fans their friends and family! And I coached 2 State Champions out of that group. That was a big feather in my cap.

Then in 2015 my wife had endured five spinal fusions and she couldn't endure the cold winters any more. So we moved to Florida and I had my Mom and Step Dad. 2 Brothers and a Sister all living in Port St Lucie so that's where settled. I applied for Disability for all the injuries while in the Army and I was approved! And for disability ssn. But for 6 years I WAS GOING STIR CRAZY. DOING NOTHING FROM WORKING 3 FULL TIME JOBS! THAT WASNT EASY! SO I called the VA and they said I could work to supplement my disability pay. So that's when I saw this job. I applied for it several times but it kept posting my electric bill instead of resume. Sorry about that.I am physically fit. Can't run as fast as I used to but I can still get along pretty good! I also have had my concealed carry permit for almost 20 years and no Illegal drugs, no alcohol. No smoking either and absolutely No criminal record. I am so very sorry this was this long! I sincerely hope you will consider me for this Job. I hope and Pray we can make this work for both of us. Sincerely. Chuck Varner
