SIGNATURE CONTRIBUTIONS
Our main Claims scrum team was underperforming due to lack of leadership, a muddy of vision and misalignment between the business units. Utilized proactive leadership to volunteer and manage the Guidewire scrum team. This required giving up one of two highly performing scrum teams and stepping up to help lead the Guidewire scrum team. Starting from scratch we retrained the team on scrum principles, developed alignment between IT and the business units and acquired buy-in from the Claims leadership team, the Steering Committee, and the Claims Systems end users. This resulted in immediate improvement (50-70%) in the scrum team’s ability to estimate and deliver work while producing steady burndown charts. The opportunity also drove an increase (20-30%) in production support tickets due to a renewed focus on quality. Commended by business partners for bringing clarity and transparency to the relationship and setting up the team so succeed.
