Duties

The duties include doing Scheduled Power Plant Maintenance of mechanical equipment within various units in the Power Station.

These are maintenance of conveyor belts and various components such as

•Pumps

•Gearbox

•Alignment

•Compressors

•Maintain Bearings

•Pipes and Fittings

The Maintenance of Mechanical Components is done at various schedules as per maintenance standards and requirements.

One of the main purpose for doing such maintenance is not only to extend the life of the equipment but to ensure that the Plant run at its optimum potential. Power Plant Maintenance is also done in conjunction with the requirements from maintenance Planner, The representative from Engineering Department, Representative from Electrical Department, Representative from Control and Instrumentation and my Supervisor or in most cases myself as a Representative from Mechanical maintenance. The committee used to have a meeting every Friday morning where we will obtain list of planned maintenance planner. Although this was a duty of my Supervisor, this was normally delegated to me.

And also my other achievement included being the first Female Power Plant Mechanical Artisan to qualify at Lethabo Power Station, Highly achievement from our Power Station Manager.
