FOOD SERVICE WORKER, VA MEDICAL CENTER
Ingredient Control (December 2017 – Present)
• Responsible for Ingredient Control consisting of all ingredient preparation including but not limited to meats and vegetables
• Assist in receipt of subsistence items and other expendable supplies assuring accuracy of items according to specifications and weight (where applicable), utilizing the computerized system to verify amounts ordered.
• Assemble, label, and arrange ingredients specified on each recipe readying for production after having calculated actual quantities of ingredients required for specific numbers of serving as determined by daily census utilizing DHCP.
• Weigh and prepare all meats prior to issuing to production unit.
• Using computer terminal, retrieve recipes, daily issues, inventory data, and produce printouts of such information.
Point of Service – Nursing Home (April 2015 – December 2017)
• In addition to completing the duties of Dining Steward, additional responsibilities include serving cafeteria- style, proportioned meals to patients. Duties also include utilizing the point of service style meal service following master menus, tray tickets, or diet cards as a guide.
• Prior to serving meals, tray and food carts are checked to ensure they are at the proper temperature. Food and equipment temperatures are recorded and discrepancies are reported.
• Responsibilities also include the washing of fruits and vegetables, peeling and cutting them by hand or machine when applicable and mixing the salad ingredients. All food is then assembled along with dessert items on plates and delivered.
• I ensure that food items are always labeled, stored and expiration dates checked. Dining Steward - Tower (June 2014 – December 2017)
• Primary responsibilities include serving morning meal trays and mid-morning nourishments as appropriate to the residents, greeting them with the prescribed greeting for tray delivery service.
• Duties also include retrieving the dirty food trays after the morning meals and returning them to the basement.
• Take daily inventory of the coffee supplies and restocking them as needed.
• Ensure the coffee cart is stocked and clean and offer residents, coffee, tea and condiments utilizing the diet ward list.
• Ensure that food items are always labeled and expiration dates checked.
• Transfer noon food carts from cooler to elevator, send to respective floors and dock into correct modules locking the module room when completed.

Food Service (Jan. 2013 – June 2014)
• Responsibilities include all dish room activities including but not limited to, loading of the dishwasher, stripping of carts and working on the catcher end of the dish machine, sorting and putting the clean dishes away.
• Responsible for coffee preparation for the next day’s meals. Truck Driver & Helper (Jan. 2013 – June 2014)
• Responsible for loading and delivering Tower breakfast carts.
• Wash truck and dock area.
• Load and return dirty evening carts from Tower.
• Load and unload the 320 breakfast carts and pick up dirty evening carts from 320 to return to 411. Loader – Tray line (Jan. 2013 – June 2014)
• After meals are put on the trays, responsible for placing trays on the appropriate carts and ensuring the hot and cold items are on the correct sides.

VENDING (NOV. 2010 – JAN. 2013)
• Responsible for ensuring all stock is properly dated, rotated and stored including the upkeep of the stockroom
• Following VCS accountability standards, I ensure all money is properly accounted for in each machine and initiate both deposit and withdrawal transactions. Machines are checked and filled as needed
