Responsibilities.

The Site Engineer assists the Project Managers/Construction Managers in executing all project requirements according to the company standards ensuring that quality and HSE policies are strictly adhered to

Leading, directing and monitoring the performance of all site Foremen and support staff in the team.

Observing the safety procedures followed by the contractor and issuing instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.

Liaising with the consultant and design team to achieve the highest achievable standards within the contracts.

Monitoring progress, assessing of standards, reviews, design changes and advise Project Manager as to its progress.

Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s HSE&Q policies and procedures, ensuring that appropriate preparatory and protective measures are employed at all stages of the work by employees and contractors. Arranges for appropriate safety training to be given to employees and contractors on site.

Preparation of Inspection and test plans for in-house projects and reviewing the same submitted by the contractors.

• Administers excavation work permit procedures. Includes reviewing drawings for underground utilities, determining feasibility of work, and giving approval.

• Provides engineering and related technical advice on construction or related matters, overseeing document control activities, liaising with Engineers in other sections etc.

• The site engineer has to face any unexpected difficulties raised from the technical side at any point of time. He must study the problem and resolve it in the most efficient manner as possible.

• For highly dangerous work site, the site engineer will take up the role of safety engineer. He has to ensure that the work carried out by the workers and other related activities are as per the safety regulation of the respective state or area.

• Every construction organization must possess a safe working culture and practice. Its implementation and practice of following is supervised by the site engineers. There may be other safety, health officers for the organization, but ensuring safety is a common need.

• As we know, quality is a parameter that have to be kept in practice from the initial stage of planning to the end of the project. The major issues with design and documentation can be corrected during the construction by the site engineer based on advice from the structural engineers. OTHER SKILLS/INFORMATION
